There will be a time when things are far worse for Democrats than today - when Republicans have control of the White House and all Congress. We've been there before. And we'll be there again.
And there will be times better for Democrats today - when they have control of all three branches of government.

I bet it's more structural than anything. I mean, you had two really good candidates for Tennessee - Clinton and Gore - yet the state kept on shifting Republican.

Hispanics and Asians definitely don't vote more when we control for those factors. Their voting rates are - sadly - extremely low. I think this is because many are immigrants.
Women vote in greater numbers than men even without controlling for any factors.
