i think the stated reason was that they're protesting the administration's lack of focus on jobs/unemployment - but i'm willing to bet that whenever the next round of financial disclosures are due that we're going to see these members having received some nice chunks of money from companies that are making bank off the federal reserve.

i have a feeling that we're not going to like what we find out once this audit -if it ever actually takes place - is done.

my objection (which is worthless since im not from NY) to Caroline isn't that I believe she isn't capable of being a senator. judging by how a lot of the supposedly capable senators already in power act, the bar is actually pretty low it seems. it's just the idea of her swooping in to gain this seat in front of other new yorkers who have fought long and hard on the front lines of the political wars in the state. it's unseemly.

kissing this idiot's azz. for all of the money and attention we threw at the evangelicals i doubt we gained many votes. he needs to understand that most of these people are always going to consider him some foreign manchurian candidate. this is really pathetic.  

Afghanistan can never be "solved" absent a comprehensive regional agreement. But I have yet to see any reason to believe that the Indians, Iranians, Pakistanis, the US, Afghanistan and the EU are going to make any more progress on this issue.

but I agree with you on the TARP issue. I understand the whole "there is only one president" argument, but these are extraordinary times. It is ridiculous that everyone is getting a bailout EXCEPT for the people whose problems are the FUNDAMENTAL reason for our current troubles. stabilize the housing market and you will stabilize the lending market.

when he didn't even win the election! as far as im concerned, winning more than 2X's the electoral votes of your opponent and bringing into the blue column states that haven't voted democratic in a generation is a mandate.
