He has a mandate and with 78% approval, Rethug congressfolks in states who voted for Obama are going to think twice about opposing BHO. Some of them are going to shake in their boots.
I don't know about you and bitter, but it may take more political experience and observation than some of Obama's critics have to see clearly what's happening.
Most of the criticism I have read is rooted in black and white thinking. You're either for one of the issues or against it.
Politics is made up of greys.
When Obama becomes president, among other things, he will take a look at the political capital he has to spend, the personnell he has, the possibilities for achievement and the situations at the moment, as he plans how to proceed on the various policies he has proposed. He'll set priorities then. To do otherwise would not be very good leadership or administering.
The job of Progressives is to help elect a Progressive majority in congress. We do not have that now. Obama will have a difficult task bringing the country together.
Progressives need to give up on either-or thinking and get accustomed to dealing with the various shades of grey.
Going to war with Obama soon after he is sworn in is not going to accomplish anything.
You are right, and I just sent him another 100 clams. But I am not ready to send money to the DNC. I'll send directly to candidates I like.
If there was a way to give just to convention expenses, I would.
This is the second time she has made reference to the RFK assassination.
It's not an accident, and it shows me that it has been on her mind a great deal and that's why it "slipped" out.
It's disgusting.

Was Barney Frank still in the closet when he ran?

In the last 19 elections, Democrats have won 10 and seem poised to win a couple more.
I don't know if Rethugs can overcome that.
Thank you very much for saying this!
Thanks for the quote from FDR. It's what we have to do for Obama.

Electing more Progressives will.

Excellent!
I'm sure you and others have considered that geography, class, age and perhaps other sub-groups will have a big impact on this.
I would guess that Hispanics over in the Valley have different views than those in San Francisco's Mission District.
Sounds like you are on a hunt to find more and more ways to be a victim. Good luck.
It was reckless and we don't need another reckless Pres.

She needs to make a real apology and then go home to stay. She is not fit to be POTUS.
And I am fed up with this blog's use of the old McCarthy tactic of guilt by association.
You ought to know better, Jerome.
I'll visit and read your used-to-be excellent, thoughtful posts when the nominee is chosen, perhaps in June.
