The hostility of this group to Democrats and their perceived values is so pervasive that even many people who make their living in politics scarcely remark on it.

It's not that the Democrats are alienating all white guys, it's that without insecure, frightened, and ignorant white guys, the Republican party would dry up and blow away.  

And, each election, their party elite has to come up with something to beat the bushes to find enough white bed-wetters to keep them in power.
