I have a feeling he's "never" going to officially announce. He's toast. And I think he knows it. What an empty suit. So it looks like Guliani and Romney. Maybe Newt will jump in then or would you believe..... the Jebster.
Thanks Chris. I'd say I"m going to miss you, but I won't because I'm just going to follow you over there and continue to follow your work as well as Matt's. So Arrivederci and Ciao.
I think it's simple. That 40% who were undecided or didn't want to participate are Gore voters, or at least the great majority of them. Why else would there be so many undecideds? There are enough good candidates there to choose from. We're all waiting for Al.
It truly is time for impeachment proceedings. He still hasn't hit his floor. Are there 17 Republican Senators + our 50 Dems (Lieberman out) that would vote to convict Bush & Cheney if he goes down to say 20-22%? (It would have to be both the P & VP) I count, Snowe, Collins, Voinivich, Smith, Coleman, maybe Specter and Sununu. I don't know where they get 10 more. But maybe if they think their party might become extinct, they just might pull the trigger. And if this Iraq War continues as is until the 08 elections we could very well get to super majorities in both Houses of Congress. The American people are getting genuinely pissed off that nobody seems to be paying attention to them. This modern day Republican party may go the way of the Whigs. Who says it can't happen anymore?
What's up with that??? He's in a can't lose position going up against Katherine Harris for god's sake???? He can't lose. Is this how he really feels about this legislation??? I'm aghast. I will not vote for him November 7th. that's the last straw. He votes for repeal of the estate tax. He always votes with the rethugs on the really important bills. I'll vote for Davis for governor, but I'm passing on my Senate vote. I wish someone would have challenged him in the primary now.
was expected to be low. There was really nothing for Florida Democrats to be excited about. Our governor's race was not very sexy and had practically no paid advertising until the last week or so, and neither man is very well known state wide. Nelson had no opposition either. And I don't think there were any competitive House primaries on the Democratic side either. All of that coupled with heavy rain in the three big Democratic counties in South Florida (Dade, Broward and Palm Beach) led to a very poor turnout. The state of Florida doesn't help matters with a Primary the day after Labor Day. You must remember Jeb Bush runs this state now. I'm pretty sure Florida Democrats will be out in force in November to make sure Nelson keeps his seat, to keep the unctuous Charlie Crist out of the Governor's mansion and of course to win back some House seats.
in letting us in on this shit and we should all do our best to let these candidates know they are making a big mistake. Any good feelings I'm starting to get about November get a good jarring when I see posts like this and some of the others I've seen from our candidates who don't mention the Republicans total failure. Our candidates should be shouting from the rooftops that they are Democrats which also means they ARE NOT REPUBLICANS. Republicans who can't and won't govern. Republicans who have given us monstrous debt and are quickly taking us from the position of the World's lone superpower to banana republic status. What are our candidates so afraid of. Particularly in this race. I know Senator Ensign doesn't get much publicity like some other jerk senator from a small New England state, but have any of you seen this man? Talk about a totally empty suit. There is nothing going on there. He is ripe for the taking and Mr. Carter should be going after Republican Senator Ensign with both barrels. Please Ladies and Gentleman, attack the Republicans and proudly state you're a Democrat. We can't lose if you do.
Thanks for asking. Sometimes when Mydd posts a video it results in not being able to access linked articles and the comments section. Also many times there is an inordinate amount of "blank space" between or in the middle of posts. That may also be because of photos not appearing. Not sure, but this site does need some technical maintenance and corrections. Again thanks for asking.
Bill Nelson is hopeless, and almost another Lieberman. I kept getting courteous letters from his office on how he seems to disagree on practically every important issue for Democrats, especially the Estate Tax Repeal. I've given up with him. I'll hold my nose and vote for him in November, but he is classic Republican lite, and he doesn't have to be. Florida really isn't like the other southern states and will trend Blue once the election thieves (Jeb) leave office. Remember Al Gore won Florida, and not by a small margin. Oh, how I still want revenge for that. Bob Graham was a very strong Senator. Mr. Nelson is not. He voted for the bankruptcy bill, and his votes on all the big issues always seem to be compromise (one way give-ins) with Republicans.
This is why. Joe Lieberman is the classic "mensch." Although Matt's post dispels the notion the Joe Lieberman is really a mensch, I think that's how he's always been seen both by constituents and the media, and certainly his behavior illustrates the same. Below from Wikpedia:

Mensch (Yiddish מענטש; also mentsch, mentsh, mensh, or mench, plural - mentchen) is a German noun meaning a "human".
In Yiddish (from which the word has migrated into American English), mensch roughly means "a good person." A "mensch" is a particularly good person, like "a stand-up guy," a person with the qualities one would hope for in a dear friend or trusted colleague. According to author and Yiddish popularist Leo Rosten,
Have you not watched this man these last six years? Digby hit it. You two both missed by a mile. Couldn't he have gone up to her looked her in the eye and made a friendly gesture or just said hell Owgriswo? This is a summitt of world leaders? Not a freaking lacrosse game. And Blueflorida, so they hung around for a few days, what does that mean? She looked horrified to me. NOt casually familiar. He's a punk plain and simple. An uncouth ill mannered ill tempered punk. And what does that say about us?
People have to start to understand it's not government that is guilty of "waste, fraud, and abuse." It's corporate America that is guilty of that and worse. How does such a small % of our population control such vast amounts of our wealth? (I'm too lazy to look up exact figures but you know the #'s) How could it not have happened other than outright thievery made legal by a corrupt set of laws allowing them to do so. It's time the people took this country back, plain and simple. We need to re-establish a middle class. But someone needs to tell them. Get them to pay attention, to care. I don't know who that is.

It's a great ad. Particularly for, if not the Bluest State, surely one of them. And she looks just great also. Go Jennifer.
