I'm not sure where you get the idea that Obama doesn't like Dean. Obama was one of the first "Dean Dozen" that was endorsed by Dean's Democracy for America after his primary campaign ended.
That's actually not true. A filibuster does not require 40 votes. 60 votes are needed for cloture. If there are 59 yes votes, 1 no vote and 39 abstentions, the cloture vote fails.
Your whole argument falls apart in the second paragraph you wrote:
his focus on unifying the country through compromise
Please point out to me where Obama suggested compromising? Sure he uses language that appeals to lots of people, but where has he actually compromised on the issues?
A return to the MyDD of a few months ago, when the site focused on intelligent conversations dealing with campaign tactics, progressive infrastructure, and strategy. The past couple months have been a non-stop painful barrage of Edwards vs Obama, and it's not at all productive.
I think you may be confused. If you look at the traffic for the past 12 months, MyDD has been losing traffic since right around the time the site became "Edwards vs Obama" all the time. check for yourself
I've definitely noticed there's a new crowd around here, and the old crowd seems to have disappeared. Like you said, you did not like MyDD before, but now that it's a partisan slugfest you do. But don't say it "wasn't working before," because it was, and arguably was working better.
MyDD is a niche blog, you are correct, but up until now, the niche has not been to only talk about the presidential primary, and furthermore to only post very partisan diaries about one candidate or another.
MyDD used to be a niche blog to discuss netroots / grassroots / Democratic Party infrastructure, field operations, campaign tactics, polling, etc.
I largely agree with PsiFighter on this one, but I'm gonna at least keep reading for a while longer. I've noticed that OpenLeft is a lot more like MyDD than MyDD is now, if that makes sense.
Regardless of what the NRSC does with its money, if it wants to run scathing negative ads, it still costs just as much money for them to do it as it does for a candidate's campaign. The advantage of course is that the attack is coming from a third party. But still, without money, those attacks can't happen.

I can do math. 1 no vote and 40 abstentions

Thanks. I knew about the delay but I didn't remember if they ever announced a new date.
This is somewhat off-topic, but when are we going to learn the winners of the BlogPac Infrastructure contest?
Plus, it's not exactly preemptive. It's more like 6 years belated.
