I've often wondered that, but when I tried to figure out where it'd be better located I couldn't really think of any department...short of making it its own Cabinet-level department. I think it's probably because good weather prediction is important to keeping commerce flowing because it helps businesses plan for the weather.
You know, I have PUMA sympathies, but I think that's just absurd. I suppose it's no different from the campaign to get the delegates to change their votes at the convention, but somehow it seems different to me.
Didn't Bayh drop out of the race because he had only 2-3% support? He seems like a poor choice even if he does help in Indiana and the surrounding states because in the rest of the country it seems like he'd just be dead weight.
Don't get me wrong, I think he's a great senator from my state, but he doesn't seem like vice-presidential material to me.
As a Clinton supporter, I'd like her to be VP rather than have a cabinet position, I think she'd be able to bring a lot of her great strengths to the position, rather than just her passion for health care.
Wasn't it the RBC that decided not to take away half the delegates of IA, NH, NV and SC? If it's a binding DNC rule why were they able to get around that with those four states?

Why didn't he vote against it, then?

True that.

Just my 2 cents.
"but Clinton should just put her name into nomination"
Is she resisting this idea? I thought it was more the DNC who were resisting her name being in the running at the convention.
Congrats to all the Obama supporters here. You've earned it. :)
