• A do-over?  Well I call 'no backsies' jebus have any of them even come up when questions that should have been asked?

My god, what a bunch of children!

I'm just not seeing that.  Sean Hannity has turned his radio show into a daily 3 hour campaign commerical.  Furthermore - as digby noted yesterday - the theocrats are not that difficult to fool.  All Rudy needs to do is say an magic words "judges like scalia and alito" (apparently Thomas has been kicked to the curb)

That combined with the eventual message machine getting in lock step and Rudy will win in a walk because he is the 'tough guy daddy' that they all want and need.

In the general election, however, he is screwed because the second he wavers on "victory in Iraq" the others like McCain and Brownback will drop on him like a ton of bricks.

It's why, no matter who eventually wins the nomination the GOP is screwed in '08

The idea appears to be to get these go-betweens to suggest to prominent antiwar members of Congress such as Russ Feingold and John Murtha that they either back Hillary or vouch for her position on Iraq.

Seriously, what position?  "Everyone keep quiet until I'm elected in '08"?  Or perhaps she has a secret plan to win the war?  Or perhaps, because she need to be serious, she can't talk about what a disaster our Iraq policy has but we can trust her because . . . um . . . well, I just can't figure out how to end that sentence.

I think this perspective misreads the American people.

We, Senator, are the American people.

I've heard through the grape vine that there is furious candidate recruitment going on, although there isn't a lot of Republican talent in Connecticut.

I hear that Alan Keyes is still available.

Dude, did Sharpton, like, kill his dog or something?  He seems really hung up on the Sharpton thing.

A large man, around 50 years old or so, then started screaming at Ned, "Are you an Al Sharpton Democrat, or a Bill Clinton Democrat?"

What does this even mean?  Anybody know what he is talking about?

  • . . . and the whole point of this election was to Win on our Own Terms, with no compromise.  And this, I think, was the key to the massive vote we turned out, both for and against us.  The town was plunged into total hysteria for more than a month - and in the end, the opposition (the GOP & the Democrats) turned out every possible vote; they brought people on stretchers down from the hospital, they wheeled in 90-year-old vegetables, they did everything possible and they still lost the city precincts [. . .] which wasn't enough to win a county election for us . . . but I'm convinced that what we proved here will sooner or later be crucial in national politics

It's anything but a done deal but Reichert is in a lot of trouble.  Probably the only reason he was elected was because he was Sheriff when the Green River Killer was caught and he rode those coattails to victory.  The Stranger had a great profile on his opponent Darcy Burner

  • I can't find it on Thomas either.  Although I did get a chuckle out of this: H.R.1420: To prohibit as indecent the broadcasting of any advertisement for a medication for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Introduced by Rep James Moran [VA-8]

In addition to this if you look at the details of the Gallup poll Bush lost 10 points among suburban residents.  I think were seeing the backlash of the gas gouging.  I just can't wait to see the reaction when they get the heating bills for their huge McMansions in the middle of nowhere.

and the recent CBS poll put Democratic approval of Bush at 14%.

Seriously, who the hell are these people?

By the Slacktivist on Left Behind.  Totally worth an hour of everyone's time.
  • They have about as much in common with the Democratic mainstream as Tom Delay has with Christie Todd Whitman.

One is a leading republican figure, one is unemployed.  I find it unsurprising that the moose hitches his bandwagon to a "centrist" who is going nowhere.

right wing claims that the Democrats were a band of left-wing crazies were laid to rest by this survey.

And the moose never misses an opportunity talk about "left-wing crazies" every chance he gets.  Hey I hear Alan Colmes is going to retire, perhaps the moose is bucking for paying work now that the DLC gravy train of incompetitence has ended.

it will take a coalition of lefties and moderates for the Democrats to prevail.

That's right the lefties come up with ideas and the DLC moderates go out and decry the extremism of those ideas.

Look, Moose, you and your cohorts have done a bang up job running the party into the ground with a compromise at all costs strategy.  And I, for one, am sick of it.  Put up or shut up.  You have ideas for how to make the party better, fine, I'm all for new ideas.  But you don't have ideas - you just know how to bash Democrats at every opportunity.

So forgive me if I tell you to cram it with walnuts, ugly.  What bold innovative proposals has Lieberman come up with.  Oh yeah, nothing!  But he isn't too busy to play kissy-face with Bush and Fox News.

But I'm a nice guy, tell you what - stop bashing memebers of your party (assuming that you still vote Democrat) and then perhaps I'll consider your ideas.  But until you devote as much time to improving the party as you do badmouthing it I will question your conviction.

Those do can't do, become critics.  We need doers not more critics.
