The Courage of Your Convictions (Updated)

As many of you know, Mayor Michael Nutter of Philadelphia took a bold and courageous stance when he came out in support of Hillary. And most recently he has been on ABC and Fox News giving interviews. As a result of his courage, his office has been bombarded by angry calls from Obama supporters.

Let's show Mayor Nutter that he has many friends that support his decision. Would you please call his office today and express that support? The number is: 215-686-1776.

Please do your part to stand up for this wonderful man who is standing up for Hillary. And for you.

Re: The Courage of Your Convictions

I thought the link said "Hillary Doesn't Pay the Bills" for a second.

Anyway, I am sure that Nutter would be glad to get support from fellow Hillary supporters, but I am not sure if clogging his phone lines is the best way to do it.

LOL

I'm sure Mayor Nutter will send you a very special Thank You note (God forbid he'd use his oh-so-important-phone lines) for your concern regarding his office...

Re: The Courage of Your Convictions

Sure, do you have a link to somewhere saying his office has be bombarded by calls from Obama campaign people? Because, if not, then you're encouraging Clinton supporters to do the same thing, which, while perhaps encouraging, is just a detriment to the work in his office.

Re: The Courage of Your Convictions

I am reporting news. It's something I am sure is foreign to what you are familiar with. And NO, I am not going to reveal my source.

But thanks for your concern.

Re: The Courage of Your Convictions

Aha. I credit your journalistic integrity. Something bad is going on- I won't tell you how I found out, just trust me!

Re: The Courage of Your Convictions

How about calling the office yourself to get the scoop. I mean, I realize it is easier to discredit me. But try it. The truth might set you free.

Re: The Courage of Your Convictions

Heh. Interesting, they said it seemed to be his constituents supporting Obama who called him, and Clinton supporters from everywhere else calling to offer support. They were very diplomatic, though. Kudos to them.

And I'm sure Hizzoner appreciates your concern trolling regarding the work in his office for what it's worth...

Re: The Courage of Your Convictions

Thanks- calling now! Courage is sorely lacking in the Dem Party today- He needs as many thanks as we can give him

Re: The Courage of Your Convictions

I just called and the reception was absolutely wonderful.  I told them that I am so pleased to have heard and seen Mayor Nutter on television and I just wish he was the other person running for this nomination instead of Obama.  Then we would have two people with courage and integrity in this primary race.  My call was a wonderful experience.  I hope others will call also.  They said that the Obama people are really acting awful and saying awful things.  It is so sad and disappointing.  I hope the media pick up this information and show the Obama people for what they are.

Re: The Courage of Your Convictions

It's really too bad that some Obama supporters do not reflect well on their candidate.  Sen. Obama seems to be a mature, serious and professional person.  When did he lose control of his grassroots people that they can act in such a way?  It just makes him look bad...

"They said that the Obama people are really acting awful and saying awful things"

I'm glad you expressed your opinion, but somehow think it would be impolitic for his office to criticize flak from his constituents to someone they do not know.  They may be rude, they may disagree with him but they do vote and I assume are from his city.  I hope our politicians have not been reduced to further splitting the party with that kind of comment in the face of anger from either camp.

Re: The Courage of Your Convictions

I think I will wait until late evening, and then place a call on his voicemail thanking him for his support and giving him my address to add me to his next campaign donor list. That is a meaningful way to show support. I try to do that when an elected does something outstanding, especially when they get flak for it.

Re: The Courage of Your Convictions

Yes, it's terrible, just terrible, when the decisions of elected officials are questioned.

Just called, got a real person, who warmly thanked me.
And thank you, Flea.

Called Mayor Nutter's office

and talked to Bob Johnson, one of Mayor Nutter's assistants.  I expressed my admiration for Mayor Nutter's courage to voice his support for the Dem. candidate of his choice.  Mr. Johnson was very appreciative and very courteous.  He took my name and city and gave me an address that I could send a note to him as well:
Mayor Michael Nutter
Room 215
City Hall
Philadelphia, PA  19107

Mr. Johnson said that they would have a website up so that any campaign contributions could be made through it.
