I'm not sure how sane he is. He said, on youtube, that he would support a constitutional amendment that would have the effect of banning the birth control pill.
Virginia elected its entire State Senate in 2007, and that is the body that will be involved in redistricting. It is 21 D, 19 R, so barring a death/resignation, we're safe. The Assembly will be GOP, and who knows about the governor. So there will be compromises in any event.
Although the doomsaying is a bit over the top, the appointment of an anti-science nutcase like RFK would disappoint much of the scientific community and cause Obama to instantly lose much credibility. RFK's belief in a vaccine-autism link (after the overwhelming evidence against such a link) is as bad as global warming denials.
Several undecided voters told me that the Powell endorsement swung their vote. This area has a lot of military people, and Powell's endorsement makes them feel much better about supporting Obama.
Isn't Sarah Palin involved in some sort of scandal involving firing her brother-in-law? Also, she unfortunately just gave birth to a child with Down syndrome, and might not be ready to campaign full time.
And Meg Whitman? A billionaire CEO? That'd fit in well with McCain's comment that you need to make 5 million a year to be rich.
Given the title of the Monday session, it is obvious that Edwards was originally scheduled to speak then. They changed the speaker (to Michelle), but not the title.
I also live in Virginia. The Wilder election was 19 years ago, and I think the Bradley effect has faded. It certainly didn't exist in the Virginia primary (where it would have been clearly apparent).
Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Indiana and/or Missouri would be gravy. If Obama takes the Kerry states plus Iowa, Colorado, New Mexico, he's elected (even if he were to lose New Hampshire). And he's well ahead in all of them. Just in case, though, one of those five states would be nice...
Yes, it's Larry Johnson, and he is allegedly releasing a tape tomorrow of Michele using the word "whitey" in a talk at the Trinity Church, in an inflammatory way.
It's all a little silly. Hillary's spouse did much worse, and McCain's spouse stole drugs from a non-profit in the mid-90's, which is also worse. Still, it'll make for lots of You-Tube viewing...
Yes, and right now there are 27 Democratic delegation, 21 GOP and 2 tied. NM is likely to go Dem in the fall, giving us 28. So Obama would be elected with 269

Todd:
Kerry states + IA + NM + CO - PA = 257 M: all others = 281
Nope. Kerry = 252, IA+NM+CO=21 PA=21, so the total is 252, not 257.
I think McC thinks CO and VA are gone, but he could still win with PA (and NV,OH, MO, FL, NC...)

But why is Nevada still red? I thought RCP, 538 and Pollster had Obama up.
There's a big downside to Palin. She's in the middle of a serious ethical scandal in Alaska.
Sadly, she also just gave birth to a child with Down syndrome. I can't see her accepting even if the ethical scandal went away.
There are two reasons Hutchinson is unlikely--McCain and she dislike each other, and she openly supports Roe v Wade.
ABC News reports that it looks like Romney has Secret Service protection this morning...

Sadly, Sarah Palin just gave birth to a child with Down syndrome. She has a great future in the Republican party, but this won't be her year.

Not the 5th. That's the 40th anniversary of the RFK assassination. She'll do it on the 4th.
