Obama's operatives have spent days doing opp research at the Clinton library - digging through records-That's just the tip of the iceberg. No doubt, if this email is real, they have subversively taken it from the Clinton campaign. How else did the press get the leaked- "Hillary shouldn't compete in Iowa" aide paper? They just dropped negative Edwards research in Iowa- Obama's machine has some of the dirtiest of all political tricksters on the payroll. Their "authenticity" is about as veneered as a cheap motel floor. The Republicans are salivating-
They admitted that they sent it "(UPDATE: The Obama campaign says this document came because a local union requested information on the differences between him and his opponents.)
From Jake Tapper-Nice try.
"Circulating among Iowa labor circles, I am told, is this leaflet, which looks to be a standard opposition-research paper against former Sen. John Edwards, D-NC.
The shocker? It's from Mr. Positive, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois.
Not that it's a shocker that Obama is drawing differences between he and his opponents. (UPDATE: The Obama campaign says this document came because a local union requested information on the differences between him and his opponents.)
It's a shocker because Obama chief strategist David Axelrod told ABC News that "One of the things people appreciate about (Obama) is he's not a cheap-shot artist" and this flier is full of cheap shots. "
Duh- With political operatives like David Axelrod and Robert Gibbs Obama has managed to pull the wool over many people's, especially the young and naive, eyes. He'll find a way to say he wasn't connected to it- like he has done in the past- Punjab Clinton- remember- They will do anything to win-hopefully the early voters will get the information in time- Same old-same old-only without experience.
Does anyone remember that Oprah implored Hillary Clinton, onstage at the Nov. 21,2005 International Emmy Awards ceremony to "do the country the honor and run for President?" She has said that she will never say anything negative about Hillary- She loves her but BO is her BFF-lots of Dodd folks I know have the same problem. Many feel they must support their good friend until he drops out. As a Clinton supporter I would rather Winfrey kept out of politics but I understand why she feels committed. Celebrities just don't do it for me-give me substance over style any day.
Finally -a real interview- will it be widely seen? doubtful. The press has been neutralizing Hillary for years. Is it because she's a woman? Does anyone think that Obama would be in his challenger position were he a woman rather than an African American male? No way would a recent state senator with no international credentials stand a chance.
FYI- Hillary Clinton's commencement speech at Wellesley College (the first student to ever give the address)
Obama and his political machine is counting on smooth talking and charisma to carry him through. If you listen to his last commercial you will note that he rails against the "problems" of the 90's but ignores the last 7 years under Bush. He is definitely trying to undercut the frontrunner by undercutting the entire Democratic party. David Axelrod and Robert Gibbs will attempt to win the primary without regard for the future. This is dirty, superficial politics at it's worse. Hope is just a word and it has been used by these operatives before-successfully. Let's "hope" the voters in the early primary states can get beyond sound bites and get to substance. It won't be easy but I believe!
rssrai-Another example of taking a Clinton comment out of context-his response:
"Clinton said he made clear before the war that United Nations inspectors should complete their search for weapons of mass destruction before any U.S. invasion.
He also pointed to remarks that he made in New York the week before the invasion.
The Democratic political operative, David Axelrod, has been at this game a long, long time. He "discovered" Obama 15 years ago. Obama's communication's director is Robert Gibbs, from Markos at Daily Kos in Feb. "Obama clearly dipped into the slimiest corners of DC to pluck out Gibbs.
Politics is dirty business, indeed. And there's no doubt that Obama's rapid response has been stellar.
But one can't help but get a little cynical hearing Obama talk about "changing the tone" and all that bullshit, while hiring a well-known smear-meister best known for his work trashing other Democrats."
The Obama machine is diabolical -Obama may not be but his operatives have been aided by the press and the Republicans to attempt to smear the most electable candidate. Hopefully the curtain will be pulled-we can't afford to elect only the bs and not the substance again.
I'm hitting Iowa for Hillary on Dec. 27th and staying through the 4th as well along with my 28 year old daughter and many of her old college friends. Can't wait to get on the ground and start some truth telling for Hillary- Anyone who can get there should do it- Might be cold but I'm sure the friendships made will be heartwarming.
Emily's List is showing up in force as well- Oprah and her billions can't beat real woman with determination.
"If I thought there was any way it could be used as a pretense to launch an invasion of Iran I would have voted no,'' Durbin said in an interview.
"I am opposed to military action in Iran," Durbin said, noting that it would require congressional approval. "To say we need to pressure the Iranians to change their course in the Middle East and I want to do it by nonmilitary means, that's what my vote was all about.''
Many forget or do not know that Iowa is one of four states that have never sent a woman to Congress. Iowa also has never had a woman governor.
As some may recall there was an internal memo leaked from the Clinton campaign suggesting she not even try. That's what I love about Hillary- she wasn't going to let the odds get her down-she has spent a lifetime fighting against the glass ceiling and accomplished an extraordinary amount. (Those who don't think she's done anything other than be married to a President are either misinformed or just plain dumb- check out Wikipedia or any source ) I'd say she's come a long way baby!
