"I have a call in to an LCV rep and he would probably have educated me to that effect, at which point I would have blogged it,"
But until I get educated by an actual rep of the LCV, I'll just go ahead accuse them of being corrupt power seekers who betray their members. I see nothing wrong with this either, for I am Matt Stoller, and I know far more about the nuts & bolts of environmental issues than the League of Conservation Voters.
They may not take kindly to being accused of corruption & betrayal, but hey, sticks & stones. If they don't want the abuse, they shouldn't have endorsed a candidate I don't like.
"Now, please stop accusing me of blogging in bad faith."
Matt, with few exceptions, your entire pathetic anti-Lieberman jihad has been in bad faith. Instead of using weasely methods to try and portray Joe Lieberman as a "Right Wing Lunatic" (your words) maybe you should go back to complaining about him standing up to clap to soon, or that time you saw him sitting with the republicans in the school lunch room. At least that's subjective and you can B.S. your way through it.
A 67% record of voting with Dems is nothing to really brag about but it's hardly GOP territory. The problem with Cuellar is that refuses to acknowledge that he is part of a partisan institution. Being a Democrat carries duties that he didn't want to acknowledge.
He endorsed & campaigned for Bush in 2000 & against fellow Dems, openly told the Democratic congress that his vote wasn't a given and that the Democrats would have to earn his vote, sneeringly dismissed important progressive Democratic interest groups & constituencies & made it well known that he's more proud of being Bush's favorite pet Democrat than with identifying with his Democratic peers in the house. It wasn't jst the netroots that disliked this guy, almost the whole of the DNC establishment got behind his primary challenger. The DNC, usually being neutral if not partial to incuments in these matters had to really dislike Cuellar for them to do something that unprecedented.
The interesting thing will be to see what Cuellar does now. Not only were the party activists against him, but the entire party establishment stricture too. He seems to be friendless. Does he take a lesson from his nailbiting primary challenge & try to make peace with the party establishment? or does he figure his most dangerous days are behind him & continue to put himself above the party.
Progressive Punch is an interesting one as well. I dunno about their methodology, but they are fairly extensive.
According to progressive punch, the most conservative Democrats in the House & Senate, Gene Taylor (D-MS) & Ben Nelson (D-NE) are more liberal than the two most liberal Republicans, Rodney Alexander (R-LA) & Lincoln Chafee (R-RI).
Mary Landrieu conservative? hardly. She's a moderate Democrat in a red state. Apparantly the standards of what makes one conservative have dropped. No suprise coming from someone who called Lieberman a "Right Wing lunatic"

So a Democrat is set to win this seat after all. Mr. Stoller must be unconsolable.
Wow I had no idea Mark Warner was that hard on the eyes. At least Evan Bayh is handsome in a politiciany/newscaster sort of way.

Or maybe it's a conspiracy?
It looks as if Mr. Bowers formulations were (unfortunately) correct. Cuellar looks to have nabbed 52-53% of the vote.
Well Cuellar just passed Rodriguez and appears to be flying toward the homestretch.
Chris Bell is one of the good guys. For a state like Texas anyway.
DINO or not, he has as much chance of winning the Governor's race in Texas Rick Santorum being enorsed by NARAL.
I know you're supposed to be cuatious, but it seems like Ciro is doing pretty well.
I dunno. You would think Ciro being ahead more than 2 to 1 so far would be good news. Not sure though.

Is there an acronym for DINO in name only?
Jane Harman
100% from NARAL
73% from the ACLU
100% from the National Education Association
100% from the League of Conservation Voters
Rated F by the NRA (Pro Gun-Control)
100% by the American Public Health Association
78% by SANE, a "pro-peace" voting record
0% by FAIR (An open immigrationist)
75% by the AFL-CIO
100% by the ARA
With Democrats like these, who needs Republicans?
"And since Casey isn't planning to really do any campaigning or take any stands on issues"
You mean like supporting increased penalties for hate crimes against gays?
Or belief that Intelligent Design shouldn't be in science class?
Or Opposition to drilling in ANWR
Or opposition to liberalized trade and having American workers compete with cheap, overseas labor?
Expand healthcare?
Increased veteran's benefits?
Support for a minimum wage hike?
Nah, you're right. He hasn't taken a stand on anything yet.
Wow, Murtha has a lifetime score of 0% from NARAL. He's been in congress a long time. Now THAT is uber pro life.
