Another typical democrat afraid of the republicans.  The minute they try to put up an ad of Wright, there will be an ad of Hagee professing America deserved Katrina or Catholics are "the great whores". I am sick and tired of feckless, spineless democrats who bend at the republicans.  Man up and fight for your party or join the Green party if you lack testicular fortitude.  

Damaged goods? What the hell? A little controversy and you're ready to roll over and die?

Screw that. Fight, dammit! "This sucks"?!? Give me a break. If you honestly believe that this one controversy or this one candidate has cost us the election, why the hell are you wasting your time reading a political blog? We can't change the country unless we change the country.

A defeatist attitude gets us nothing.

Here's an exercise. Try pretending you are a Clinton supporter and watch just one episode of Hardball, then watch Olbermann.

If you do this honestly--remember you have to pretend you really are a Hillary supporter--then you will get some idea of the shit storm that any Democrat is going to face in the fall.

The question is: Who can weather the storm and win?

I find it particularly offensive and ironic that now Obama supporters are asking the entire progressive movement to defend Obama on the basis of "context!" after they systematically took the words of Geraldine Ferraro, Bill and Hillary Clinton, and others completely out of context and totally misrepresented those brief excerpts to mean something entirely unmeant, and blast those progressives as "racist". Yes, context is everything.

Please do not expect me or other Clinton supporters to go to bat for your candidate, who chose to play hard ball and go nuclear with the racism charges, thereby stabbing old friends in the back. It is only fair that the same tactics will be used effectively against Obama by the Republicans, who have no allegiance whatsoever to him, and want only to destroy him.

I and others warned Obama supporters not to burn bridges with old friends who have been there for the civil rights movement since it's inception. Burning bridges backfires big time. You are reaping what you have sown. The bridges are gone.

If you stab friends in the back then they are not there to help you later. Vicious and ruthless destruction of your friends for short term gain is unwise.

Good luck introducing "context" to the "God d@#m America narrative. Keep the subject up front and center in the media, and watch your polls drop further and further as that message is driven home to more and more people.

They are only your friends now because they want Obama to get the nomination so that they can crush him in the fall.

Mind you, I don't include Keith and Rachel in this grand right wing media conspiracy, they are just simple dillusional pawns. But, the others know on which side their bread is buttered.

Imagine what a heroic figure John McCain will be to Chris Matthews in another couple months. The thought of all those years in prison is certainly going to make Tweety's leg tingle.

In both cases, Clinton supporters both closely affiliated with and adjunct to her campaign are using (as are YOU) a falsely constructed, baseless, and VILE smear that requires the use of extremely out-of-context and completely false constructions to make any sense as an "attack". Geraldine Ferraros comments were what they were, and need not be taken out of context to be considered less than useful. The same goes for Samantha Powers, btw.

Every Democratic Campaign does NOT have to "figure out out to distance themselves from Wright" -- rather, ANY democrat has to figure out that, GOSH, his words were twisted, taken out of context, misquoted and are being FALSELY USED AS A MEANS TO SMEAR A DEMOCRAT.

The Obama campaign has been using all the right wing talking points against Hillary Clinton throughout this campaign, and trying to destroy her by capitalizing on how she was demonized by the right as "polarizing". The same betrayal you accuse us of  that now you are screaming is so unacceptable. And we are not doing it to you now, even though we have been "done to" by the Obama campaign. See who is really taking the high road, in fact, not in rhetoric?

Now it is ironic that you want her campaign to protect you from the right wing attacks that we told you would be coming. All that nicey-nice nonsense about a "post partisan" politics is meeting the harsh reality of what the Clintons have already faced for years. Now the Obama campaign is shrieking about how "we have to FIGHT these attacks,", and all the bromides about "reaching out to the other side" have been exposed as so much fantasy and nonsense.

This is why we need a fighter, we need a Hillary Clinton, in the White House, and as our standard bearer. Because the other side plays for keeps and will stop at nothing. This is exactly why we fight, because the other side wants to destroy us. Welcome to reality.

The problem is, I do. The problem is, I do dig up anything on Senator Clinton to use against her, instead, I defend her positions when possible.

MyDDers don't owe Rev. Wright an apology because they were wrong, they need to do so because for the past week I got what Rushbo feeds the world every day here at MyDD, and that ain't right.
