Actually, Wallace says "Where is the... talk about the right to marriage, where is the right to same sex marriage in the Constitution?" This is a very telling slip on his part, because he knows very well that the right to marriage itself is not specifically enumerated in the Constitution, though he won't call the 1888 decision "judicial activism." This is a big deal because the conservative philosophy is to ignore the 9th Amendment (or equate it with the 10th) and minimize the 14th - if it isn't mentioned, it doesn't exist. But how popular with legal conservatives be with less educated social conservatives if they say that marriage is not a fundamental right protected by the Constitution? Wallace almost blew it.
Thank you! I didn't know that. As I think about it, the economy turned around in spring of 1983, and a professor of mine said that he was happy the economy was improving, but lamented the political inevitability of 1984.
No he didn't. I think you're referring to Dukakis who has a 17 point lead over Bush, Sr. then squandered it. Mondale came in one point ahead in one poll immediately following the Dem convention, but immediately the media tore into Ferraro and it went downhill from there.

Well there's a cheerful viewpoint.
I think you're in for some disappointment.
But where are all the anti-Obama posters who hang on this site? Are they on vacation?
Again.

It's been two years now! Are Hillary supporters really still this mad at Obama for winning the election?

Maybe it's fleeting, but it's sweet nevertheless.
AA canned Rhodes after that remark, and it wasn't even made on the radio. She is now independently syndicated and doing well.
And the outfit which puts out Miller and Shultz formerly aired Thom Hartman. They'll probably take him back. And Maddow.
Malloy and Seder are probably history, at least at the national level. They were too much the "anti-Savage" and not enough analysis. To strident.
And God I hope I'm wrong.
I'd like turnout reports from the ground. Anybody here in Mass?
