You are right that all of the governments in Western Europe got the boot. And you are also correct that it was because of the economy. But you forgot one thing, their policies were causing the economic problems. They over taxed and over regulated the economy. I doubt much any of the Democrats, except 3rd Place John, want to go back to Keynesian economics and the stag-flation we ended up wtih.
It is great to see the Daily Kos putting this out about voting for Romney. Why don't they just put up a big banner saying "We Are Terrified of John McCain and Mike Huckabee!!"
Unless this is reverse pyschology at its finest, this is a good thing for McCain and Huckabee.
It is good to know we don't have real problems to deal with and we can focus on an ad. This reminds me of the great moral outrage people felt after Janet Jackson's nipple was exposed during the Super Bowl.
I think they should put an asterisk on it and shove it up Bond's ass - that arrogant prick. He is a cheater and a fraud. The only good thing to come from this mess is that it gives new appreciation to Hank Aaron and Roger Maris - two guys who broke the records honestly and under enormous pressure. Bonds is not fit to wash their jocks, let alone be credited with breaking their records.
The same thing goes for McGuire and Sosa - two complete phonies.
Who cares what a stupid rube like Mudcat Saunders thinks? This bozo has taken one race - Mark Warner in 2001 - and milked it for all its worth. Beating Mark Earley by 5 points when everyone said it was going to be a blow out does not make one a political genius.
Ron Paul is increasingly becoming nothing more than shock value, and in a few weeks he will lose that.
I have to say that Tom Tancredo's speech was one of the angriest things I have ever heard from an American politician. He really seemed one step away from Edward Norton's speech in American History X where he compares the border to a pinyata opening up.
All and all it was a good reminder why I am no longer a Republican.
I think if Brownback does not come in at least 3rd he might drop out. He is from a mid-western farm state and 100% with the religious-right. If he is struggling to get traction in Iowa than he is really wasting his time. The idea that Ron Paul could beat him should tell Brownback all he needs to know about his campaign.
Using Ghandi in a way undermines your argument. What happened to Ghandi after years of hard work and sacrifice for the people of India? He was shot by an Indian who was a religious fanatic.
The world is a cold and cruel place. If America won't be the leader someone else will and they may make things alot worse. I wish things were not that way, but they are. No amount of wishful thinking is going to change that. And as long as the American people think as Democrats we do not admit that reality they will never trust us to keep them safe and we will lose elections to the Republicans.
I think the point he/she is making is that Japan isolated itself from the rest of the world and fell behind in its standard of living. At least that is what I remember from Mr. Riley's 10th grade history class. If I am wrong, then I will withdraw all laughter and sarcasm. One ha at a time.
As for leaving the Middle East to fix itself, does that same logic apply to Darfur? Should we have let Europe settle its destiny after WW2?
How dare you. Who do you think you are bringing an intelligent, historical analogy to this debate? This post, hell maybe this whole blog, is about getting mad, shaking your fist in the air, and then typing the same slogans over and over. Damn you to hell for violating that. Damn you. ;-D

I would like to see that Biden/Richardson exchange. I know they disagree about Iraq, but it would be interesting to see what else they fight over.

Save your fairy tales for someone else.
Great to hear. Biden is the only candidate who seems to have a plan to get us out of the mess in Iraq.

PS: Nice name.
It has been reported that Tom Snyder passed away after a battle with cancer. His Tomorrow show was responsible for some great interviews.
