The general opinion of him? Who's general opinion? This is the kind of comment that is almost totally meaningless because it can't possibly be refuted.
And why in the world Dean do that? What does he gain by getting in front of a microphone and saying "Yes, I was snubbed." Whether that's what happened or not, it seems unlikely.
Dean's brother seems like a pretty solid choice to me, especially given their relationship.
I read about this, too. Perle is so full of shit it's a wonder he can even move. How is that people think they can rewrite history like this? Is he not aware of the internets and that new-fangled invention, the boob tube? Did he really think that no one would bother to look up the lunatic comments from him and the rest of his neocon nutjob buddies?
Counterbalancing is nonsense, at least from my perspective. If you're talking about an opinion issue, fine. By all means, explore other viewpoints. But facts are facts. If I get on TV and say that the world is round, CNN doesn't need to bring out a flat earth knucklehead to say it isn't.
There are plenty of theories as to why the Obama team didn't consult with Dianne (who is not one of my favorite people), but I suspect somebody just dropped the ball. I have nothing to back that up, just my feeling. However, no matter why they didn't consult her, it was a mistake. It didn't accomplish anything and only served to annoy the chair of the committee. Nothing gained at all, which I was I refuse to believe it was intentional. I also don't buy that it leaked - not with a team as disciplined as this one is where leaks are concerned.
Either way, it isn't the end of the world, and mistakes are going to be made. Obama and Biden have both contacted Feinstein and apologized, and she's backing away from her harsh rhetoric. The transition team learned a valuable lesson, and now we can move on.
Who knows if it moves the dial at all, but I seriously doubt that's their point. I can't imagine they expect to move American foreign policy just because they showed up. But 8 people or 8 thousand, they clearly have strong feelings, and wanted to be heard. But I'll bet Obama is aware of them, which was probably the goal.
I have no issue with people protesting in this manner at all. It's far better than the "free speech zones" we all know and love. And it certainly isn't going to do Obama any harm. These folks are exercising their rights. I just don't see the problem.
Dr. Laura, your husband does indeed suck - the proverbial big one. He sucked 20 years ago, he sucked yesterday and he'll suck tomorrow. He absolutely stinks on ice.

I have a truly disturbing mental picture now, thank you very much.

The queen of triangulation? And who is that is re-fighting the primary wars?
This is so irritating. Anyone who doesn't do as you say is a PUMA? Get over yourself, please.
And 1 is the loneliest number.

I'm right there with you. Well said, young man.
