We just picked up 20%!!!

In Dixville Notch and Hart's Landing, NH.  They went 21-5 and 17-13 Bush last time, 19-7 and 15-15 this time.  I'll take that trend nationally!

In a related story, Fox just called New Hampshire for Bush.

You beat me damnit!
I was just about to write this diary after I heard the news on Mike Malloy.

I was a bit confused when, after hearing Malloy say Dixville Notch went 15-15-1, I found a report from Reuters that it had gone 19-7 Bush.

Then I found the story from AP/SanFranChron about Hart's Location, and everything was cleared up.

mixed track record
Also, Dixville Notch voters have a pretty mixed track record as indicators, both in the New Hampshire primary and the November election. In the 1992 primary, when Clinton was struggling for Democratic votes and Pat Buchanan was menacing incumbent President George H.W. Bush on the Republican side, Libertarian candidate Andre Marrou was the top vote getter in Dixville Notch.

In general elections, Dixville Notch went solidly for losers Richard Nixon in 1960, Barry Goldwater in '64 and, Hubert Humphrey in '68, then finally picked a winner with Nixon in '72, only to see him quit at midterm. In 1976, their choice was Michigan's Gerald Ford, who lost to Jimmy Carter. In 1980 and '84, they liked Reagan, as did most of the country. George H.W. Bush was their pick in 1988, but Dixville Notch didn't back another winner until George W. Bush in 2000.
