• Just an observation.  I'm fairly new to the blogosphere.  The larger sites mention the term community but it doesn't feel that way.  Very few of those leaving comments take the time to communicate with each other.  The older established bloggers are closing ranks and that's a shame since we liberals already have enough of that to contend with in the MSM.
And, who knows what great voice is being silenced by this move.

The media have picked their candidates and we will hear lavish praise for the chosen ones and smear for the others. We'll just have to do our part to change the rules of the game.

I would have driven perfectly in the snow if I had left the house. :)  You'll just have to take my word for it.

As an Independent, I oppose almost everything that Bush stands for and I have the same sentiments about John McCain and Joe Lieberman.

I should rephrase that since Bush doesn't stand for anything.

Good point Joe.  And, it sure is a hard point to get across to politicians.  I don't know if they read the wrong papers; listen to the wrong people or...  Why do so many keep repeating their mistakes? I mean for example here's Joe Biden having that worthless piece of crap Kagan offer opinions to the Foreign Relations Committee on Iraq.  Why?!?  He and his neocon losers got it completely wrong on the war and they still get invited to offer more uneducated baseless facts?

First, that's not how people drive in Portland in the snow.  That's how we innovatively used our cars as sleds in the snow.  Just wanted to set the record straight. :)

I would love to read more about the Media Reform Conference and how the ideas will be implemented.  How can we help?

Maliki thinks that Bush & Rice may have embolden the terrorist with their rhetoric? Priceless!

  • I would assume there's censorship from both Hezbollah and Israel but this report clearly shows that the MSM has agreed to be Israel's propaganda machine, including the AP.

"Since the issuance of the censorship document, news crews reporting in the area have not reported the location of Hezbollah strikes into Israel.  Each news crew is accompanied by an Israeli police officer, who strictly monitors what the news crew is broadcasting."

"As the dual Israeli invasions of Lebanon and Palestine continue unabated, local and international journalists covering the conflict have been affected by orders from the Israeli military censor's office not to report successful hits by Hezbollah into Israel."

"In an interview with the British Guardian newspaper, the head of the Israeli Military Censor's office, Col. Sima Vaknin, told of her broad powers, saying, "I can, for example, publish an order that no material can be published. I can close a newspaper or shut down a station. I can do almost anything."

"The Associated Press has agreed, like other organizations, to abide by the rules of the censor, which is a condition for receiving permission to operate as a media organization in Israel."
