Oregon Wins One DNC Vote for Dean

A note from Oregon from Political State Report

Howard Dean hasn't yet started his campaign for DNC Chair, but already his supporters appear to be gearing up to make it happen. This weekend, long-time DNC Committeewoman Mary Botkin was unseated by active party volunteer Jenny Greenleaf, who had been active in the Dean campaign.

That's one question mark off the DNC roster, replaced with a vote for Dean.  This is the way to win them, one vote at a time.  You may be able to help by voting at your next Assembly District Democratic Committee meeting.

Thanks for the update. I can vouch for a couple more in Washington State too, we'll get there.

Party On!
I certainly talked up Dean's non-candidacy for DNC chair at the Holiday Party to both of our DNC representatives and the state Vice Chair.

Dean Speaks
In a statement to Dean Supporters, Tom McMahon, the Exective Director of DFA announced that,

"Governor Dean will lay out a vision for the future of the Democratic Party this Wednesday at 12 p.m. Eastern in Washington, D.C."

I truly hope that he will be announcing his candidacy for DNC Chair.  There are those who would like to see Dean make a Presidential bid again in 2008.  But Dean is a Democrat, and by 2008 there may not be much of a Democratic Party left.  And since Dean won't leave the party, he'll just have to lead it.
