Any reasonable Dem would defeat a right-wing Repub who beats Specter in a primary.  Hoeffel would have crushed Toomey if Toomey had beaten Specter in 2004.

Democrats are gearing up for a tougher, more defensive cycle. While Democrats want to take advantage of Obama's bank account, party officials are anxious about getting out of the red and are telling members and donors to pay up -- quickly.

The best defense is a good offense.  The DCCC should target 20-25 Repub incumbents and attack them immediately.  That will force the GOP to play some defense and take some pressure off some Democrats.  

I'd prefer someone at CIA who will be much more hawkish and will support use of very aggressive methods against terrorists including torture.

Obama is savvy enough to try to get a Repub senator from a state with a Dem Governor.

That means Voinovich, Snowe, or Collins.

DNC Chair does not make policy, it is a fulltime campaign job.  So Kaine's personal views on choice or gay rights is irrelevant unless Kaine plans on using it as a litmus test to pick canididates.

What matters is the approach and strategy Kaine has for the Democratic Party in the future.

I'm a very hawkish Democrat, and my dream would be to see the entire Middle East belong to the only democracy in the region, Israel.

My political hero is Joe Lieberman.  I vote Democratic because I support their liberalism on domestic issues.  I voted for Obama in large part because the thought of Sarah Palin as President made me very very frightened.  I see Palin as very charismatic and dangerous, and able to rile up her followers the way that Adolf Hitler did in Germany.
