An invitation to the first round of voting for a 2008 Progressive Patriot to receive some cash support from Russ Feingold's PAC is in our "In" boxes today. This first slate for the new electoral cycle consists of Democratic freshmen whom Russ Feingold expects may face stiff challenges.
The roster is below the fold.

I hope no one minds a very brief diary that's just a pointer to a place to do a small good deed, if you will. Carl Manaster has implemented the idea of putting up a web page at ActBlue to help Barry Welsh and a couple of other candidates whittle down their leftover campaign debts. Barry has many friends here and his debt is qute small. Anyone who might care to contribute a few bucks:

Former state rep Ron Herrell, campaigning to reclaim the House District 30 seat that he lost in the 2004 GOP takeover of the Indiana State house, suffered a broken rib and head and face injuries in a traffic accident Wednesday afternoon.

A Korean War veteran and a former fire-fighter, Ron Harrell served the district for three terms, 1998-2004. His meat-and-potatoes campaign platform focuses on kitchen table issues that are important in his district: education, jobs, health care, and gasoline taxes:

The invitation to another round of voting for a Progressive Patriot to receive some cash support from Russ Feingold's PAC is in our "In" boxes today. This time it's the Senate challengers who are eligible. Can we share our thoughts?

Ed Perlmutter, CO-07 gets boost - from the GOP candidate
Election Central has the story. In another of these delicious pratfalls that the Republicans have pulled by nominating a Club for Growth wingjob, it turns out that the Republican running in CO-07, Rick O'Donnell, is on the record as wanting Social Security not just trimmed or reformed or semi-privatized, but dismantled:

So what do Barry Welsh, our candidate in IN-06
http://www.barrywelsh.org/
and John Cranley, our candidate in OH-01
http://www.johncranley.com/
have in common? Birthdays? Signs of the Zodiac? Don't know about that. But the incumbents they're running against share something I wasn't aware of until yesterday. Different states, different situations; some would say, different tier races. Yet they are tied by at least one thread.

The invitation to another round of voting for a Progressive Patriot to receive some cash support from Russ Feingold's PAC is in the "In" box. As in each such slate, there are some welcome faces that make a huge amount of sense, and a few surprises.

Here's another round of pick-the-winner in an all-expenses paid offer of a campaign fund-raiser by John Edwards:

Barbara Boxer is back in our e-mail queues asking us to identify a Democratic Senate challenger for an injection of support. All the challengers (to a GOP incumbent, let's play nice) are listed. Oh, and Amy Klobuchar, campaigning to hold Dayton's open seat in MN, and Bernie Sanders, trying to hold Jeffords' seat for... well, for Vermonters, I guess.
Let's share our thinking, shall we?

The latest round of Senator Russ Feingold's "share the wealth" strategy is just popping into our mailboxes. This time he wants to identify a Democratic candidate for Governor who would be a good choice to support.
