Hillary Gave You Good Advice Today

Sometimes a compliment is in order and today is one of those days.

Hillary Clinton today reminded ALL OF YOU that if she doesn't get the nomination, then you should vote for Barack Obama and not John McCain.

Hillary explained why cogently and eloquently.

Hopefully all of you were listening.

She was right.

Re: Hillary Gave You Good Advice Today

Here's the link:

Hillary Clinton pleaded for partisan unity on Thursday, urging Democrats not to abandon their party to vote for John McCain if their preferred candidate fails to secure the nomination.

Clinton was asked by a questioner in the audience here what she would tell frustrated Democrats who might consider voting for McCain in the general election out of spite.

"Please think through this decision," Clinton said, laughing and emphasizing the word "please."

"It is not a wise decision for yourself or your country."

   The crowd applauded loudly.

"First of all, every time you have a vigorous contest like we are having in this primary election people get intense," she continued. "You know, Sen. Obama has intense support. I have intense support."

Clinton stressed that there are "significant" differences between her and Obama, but said "those differences pale to the differences between us and Sen. McCain."

"I intend to do everything I can to make sure we have a unified Democratic party," she said. "When this contest is over and we have a nominee, we're going to close ranks, we're going to be united."

Honesty sometimes comes off rougher than artifice, and actions speak louder than words.

Re: Hillary Gave You Good Advice Today

I call that hubris , not with polls showing close to 28% of her supporters decamping to Mccain.

Obama should make a similar plea...

To show that his heart is in the right place..

Re: Hillary Gave You Good Advice Today

Congratulations on turning a genuine moment of agreement between all supporters into yet another attack.

Re: Hillary Gave You Good Advice Today

It can still be a moment of agreement.

We can all agree that what Obama and his wife said was irresponsible .

Especially in light of what Clinton had been saying in terms of party unity since the beginning of the campaign.

This is not the first time she has said these words.

While Obama was proclaiming she might not get his voters , she was talking about unity.

Re: Hillary Gave You Good Advice Today

Obama didn't tell his voters to NOT vote for her...he said that they may not.

And, considering that he's generally done better among independent voters who have less loyalty to the Democratic Party, that makes sense.

I'm sure Obama would endorse Clinton, should she win, and would encourage ALL voters, his, hers, McCain's, Edwards's...EVERYONE'S...to vote for her.

Anyway, I applaud Hillary's statement, today.

"Hillary Gave You Good Advice Today"

Maybe Hillary gave us good advice or

Great advice from Hillary

Or I am glad Hillary and Obama are united in their desire that their voters vote for the other candidate.

"Hillary Clinton today reminded ALL OF YOU that if she doesn't get the nomination, then you should vote for Barack Obama and not John McCain.

Hillary explained why cogently and eloquently.

Hopefully all of you were listening.

She was right."

I am glad you are sure you know better how I should vote than I do...

Honestly I think the left wants to help people leave the party until its just Pelosi, Dean and Obama...

Re: Hillary Gave You Good Advice Today
Somehow you managed to completely screw up a compliment. If (and this is a BIG if) Obama is to be the winner, Obama's supporters, in the interst of unity, might consider toning down their incredible hubris.

Hillary Clinton did not say that she intended to lose the race. She's the only Democratic candidate who deserves credit trying to make the case against voting for McCain.

By the way diarist, if you want to know how to give a proper compliment, take note of this from Hillary Clinton:

Clinton stressed that there are "significant" differences between her and Obama, but said "those differences pale to the differences between us and Sen. McCain."

I have always

said I will vote for the Democratic nominee. Now will Obama and his supporters say the same thing?

What about the Dkos kids?

Re: Hillary Gave You Good Advice Today

So, Hillary thinks Obama is going to be the nominee and she is asking her supporters to support him.  This is great news.

Re: Hillary Gave You Good Advice Today

You and george W Bush want a 3rd McCain Term?

McCain will cover up all the scandals of the Bush administration.

So are you just like George W Bush?

BO and the bad boyfriend syndrome

Many women know about the "bad boyfriend".
He is the one that tells you you are too old.
You are too ignorant.
You don't make enough money.
You don't have enough education.
You don't understand him, thats why he flirts with everyone else and ignores you at the party.

After all this he informs you that your stuck with him. After all who else will have you?

Just a HRC supporters thoughts on BO.

Re: Hillary Gave You Good Advice Today

And then her husband opened his mouth:

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/03/27/830276.aspx

and her Campaign money folks tried to extort Pelosi and Co:

Sorry I want to be more positive...but this makes it difficult.

Still - Rec for the diary - b/c the advice is good...too bad she didnt necessarily mean to follow it with actions.
