Where I disagree with you is that the 2003 Prescription Bill with donut holes was terrible. I'm glad the jerk who wrecked his personal life voted against it at the time, as did Kennedy. One cannot control health costs with prescriptions as they do in other countries unless one can negotiate prescription prices. After all, we provide R & D monies to them as it is. Doesn't seem fair that we pay a lot more for them here than in other places, Africa and other developing nations, withstanding.
I don't mean my comment in the sexual sense. What I mean is that the guy in question used to work for Baucus (and my understanding is that they have a close political relationship) and is in the White House these days. Obama should have not hired Tazin or at least kept him away from this issue as a possible conflict of interest.
I used the term loosely. Sorry if it offended anyone.
This really stinks. Too bad the jerk who wrecked his personal life isn't running the country. He would have never let those guys sit at the table, knowing they would steal all of the food and there would be a bill by now. Baucus's cabana boy would not be running the show.
She was terrible, but the way I look at it, she got schooled better by Charlie Gibson than by all of those Bush and McCain advisers. What does this say about them?
It's interesting how some progressives get it that it all fits together. John Edwards was one of the early ones who did. I suspect he continues communications with unions on these issues.

Well, apparently, the news was premature. The Miami Herald reports that Wade Smith, JRE's lawyer, says that no statement is planned.

Aren't most votes purely political? :-)

I had thought Jim Messina was in Poco, lol.
Thank you, that is whom I meant. Appreciate the correction.
I had thought the Latino population was higher than 5% but according to the Census, it is slightly less than that in SC. I just checked.
There are times he comes to his senses. This was one of them. Better than McCain, who deserves to be tossed out for this one.
I don't care what Graham's motivation is, to be honest. He did the right thing, and that is what matters, doesn't it.

Looks like Graham was smart enough to save his own bacon.
She's not likely to be my favorite justice on commerce issues, but neither was Souter for that matter.

I have a chocolate and vanilla bean cake at Benny's World if anyone wants any no-cal dessert to celebrate DMD's birthday.
Most of the bloggers DMD mentions are ones I also admire. I appreciate being on the honor roll.
If I want the scoop on Iowa politics, Bleedingheartland is the first place I go. I also appreciate DMD's passion for improving our environment.
In a few months, I'll be in a new decade cohort, but I'm proud to be part of DMD's for now.
Happy birthday, DMD, and have some cake.
