I did read the link you provided. Daley's machine has created a Democratic stronghold longer-lasting that those of many other large cities.

It was also instrumental in getting us President Kennedy.

It's also one of the largest Democratic strongholds in the country.

The corruption existed and, like every major city, still exists in a way.

I believe conflating CHicago corruption with Obama's campaign on the flimsiest of pretenses (the author doesn't like Obama) in bad form, as is  broadly painting Chicago as the pinnacle of corruption while leaving out WASHINGTON D.C.

Chicago-style politics only became an issue with these people when Obama started beating their candidate.

Actually, this diary served a couple of purposes.

I wanted to remind people that there was a house-cleaning promised, yet not delivered.

I wanted to chastise the diary in question for concern trolling.

Now, in the comments, for some reason I'm spending time explaining to you that the diary in question didn't "question" anything, but tried to conflate Chicago corruption with the campaign of our party's nominee.

Can you understand WHY that is not a good thing to allow on this site?

Well, if people actually questioned the move, fine and dandy. Then you'd have a point.

But when people simply mock Chicago for being corrupt and then insinuate that we should be scared of the Obama campaign, that's not really "questioning" the move, it's concern trolling.
