Yes I did get what you posted. It's not his fault that people didn't get the message that he was saying for the WHOLE campaign. He didn't try to slide one by on this issue. He was out in full force saying more troops in Afghanistan. People can read into it what they want but they have to remember; it's their fault for voting for the guy.
It took me two seconds to google his positions during the campaign. If this is going to snap people into the realization that they need to actually see what they are getting before they vote for it, then this is good. But it's not Obama's fault that people are having an ex post facto remorse over his Afghanistan policy...
"It's time to heed the call from General McKiernan and others for more troops. That's why I'd send at least two or three additional combat brigades to Afghanistan. We also need more training for Afghan Security forces, more non-military assistance to help Afghans develop alternatives to poppy farming, more safeguards to prevent corruption, and a new effort to crack down on cross-border terrorism. Only a comprehensive strategy that prioritizes Afghanistan and the fight against al Qaeda will succeed, and that's the change I'll bring to the White House."
-Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL), in a speech Wednesday in Richmond, Virginia on national security policy.
I received this call too. It also said that the Democratic Congress was going to raise taxes and that Democrats were responsible for "projects like the Bridge to Nowhere". It didn't say "vote Republican" but it came really close.
I thought the call said to request an absentee ballot and mail it in. I was just concentrating on the message and who was paying for it. It was "The Republican Party of Virginia".
Canvassed yesterday in NOVA (Oakton/Fairfax). The houses I knocked are 600k+. The Republicans that I canvassed were in the middle. They liked Obama before the Palin pick but were taking a second look at the McCain ticket because of it. They told me because of the recent news about her that they were coming back to Obama but were unsure.
We're seeing that pendulum fly back and it's going to clock McCain. Obama's ground game in the state is going to make it real close. We're registering new voters at an amazing clip. Let's keep it up. We're on the march!!!
"If lenders are going to act like predators, they should take a hint from biology. Predators who kill too many of their prey may enjoy brief population booms, but those booms are always followed by a crash.
You can't prosper in the long run by destroying what sustains you."
This is the best I have read or heard that describes the current situation. Thank you for the comparison.
