I don't think I could name 1 thing I make that is an "original family recipe". My kids got cookies made from the recipe on the Nestle bag, and they still tasted great right out of the oven. They get chicken dishes courtesy of Campbells, and I'm sure the dishes I make that my mother made - she probably got them off the side of a container: Quaker Oats oatmeal cookies, anyone? Unless these first ladies went to culinary school, I'm sure their recipes were lifted from a magazine, also. We just didn't have such great access to google in the past elections.
I'd love to see Rachel Maddow take over Countdown (or any MSNBC show), but I don't agree with Olbermann for Meet the Press. I stopped watching him a few years ago - too much like O'Reilly for my liking (just coming from the other side). I dislike O'Reilly as much as the next (sane) person, but Olbermann's rants were becoming obsessive and creepy. I would like to see someone host Meet the Press who's been covering politics and the white house closely for a while. Since my favorite reporter Helen Thomas is too old, someone like David Gregory? Nora O'Donnell? I think Nora O'Donnell would be a really good choice - especially since Katie Couric fell flat IMO not because she's a woman, but because she came from more of an entertainment show than a news show.
I wonder how long it would be before the RNC put up a commercial with him saying "I enjoy cocaine" from The colbert Report (or whatever the exact quote was).
By trying to paint Hillary Clinton as a racist, when clearly the Clintons have worked on behalf of the AA community for years, IMO the Obama supporters and media (although sometimes one and the same) made a serious error. Now when they use these same charges against McCain and the RNC, alot of people just won't want to hear it. Remember the tale of the boy who cried wolf - nobody believed him when the wolf really showed up at the end of the story.
I always thought he looked very uncomfortable in his job as Press Secretary - definitely not as at ease lying as Tony Snow or Ari Fletcher, that's for sure.
I think this is the most beautiful of the DC monuments, when they drove by this at night during President Ford's funeral procession, it was very moving.
Just for the sake of argument, of the 4 justices you mention, 2 were appointed by Democrats, and 2 were appointed by Republicans, so it could be argued that we have a 50/50 shot of getting another Souter or Stevens, even under McCain. Just saying. Plus, although I have my doubts about Obama being able to win in November, I do believe we will increase our majorities in Congress, so it should be easier to stand up against a bad nominee.
So are you suggesting that all the people who won't vote for Obama are racists? It couldn't have anything to do with his thin resume, or the fact that some people just don't like him? That would be like me believing that everyone who doesn't like Clinton and won't vote for her is a sexist.
I've been saying this for months - but nobody seems to buy it. Everybody is treating him as a joke - but he may have the last laugh on us in November. We shouldn't "misunderestimate" him.

He's probably just covering his ass just in case the rumors of him running for a seat in PA are true.

By the way, I just noticed the times on some of these comments - does anybody sleep anymore?

I enjoy reading your comments or posts even if, as ragekage points our, you are a "furriner" (as W would say).

I don't think you can blame Carter's loss in 80 on Kennedy.

Well, look at what Kennedy did in 80. He obviously didn't care about party unity then.
