With the race for the Democratic presidential nomination looking more and more like it will be decided at the Denver convention this August, I thought I'd bring attention to a news item that sort of slipped under the radar with out a whole lot of people noticing.

On January 14th, the Executive Committee of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) quietly met in Denver, Colorado to vote on confirming Howard Dean's nominations for Chair of the Convention Credentials Committee along with his 25 Party Leader & Elected Official (PLEO) appointments.

Chairing the 2008 Democratic National Convention Credentials Committee are some familiar names. Alexis Herman, James Roosevelt, Jr. and Eliseo Roques-Arroyo will be heading up the committee that will determine whether the delegations from Florida and Michigan are allowed to vote at the convention in August.  

You may know Alexis Herman and James Roosevelt, Jr. as they are the co-chairs of the DNC Rules & Bylaws Committee.  The DNC Rules & Bylaws Committee was the panel that stripped Florida and Michigan of their national convention delegates.

Also, pursuant to Article VII of the Call for the 2008 Democratic National Convention, Howard Dean nominated and the DNC Executive Committee confirmed the following 25 Party Leaders & Elected Officials (PLEOs) to serve on the Credentials Committee:
