"Across Nation, Mosque Projects Meet Opposition"

Signs say things like "Mosques are Monuments to Terrorism" This, after President Obama has eased tensions with his speech in Egypt and with other actions reaching out to the Muslim world.

These protests, equating Islam to terrorism, runs against our freedom of religion traditions and our foreign policy. Tea party adherents are joining these protests. What do they all want, back to the Crusades?

while I don't agree that mosques per se are terroristic,

or that all muslims are terrorists, nearly all the world's terrorists today are muslims. Building a 10 story mosque/cultural center near Ground Zero is like building a 10 story Serbian Orthodox cultural center near Srebrenica. Both acts were intended to kill as many of the deemed-wrong ethnic/national group.

Also, Obama hasn't healed much tension. Sure the governments there are more willing to openly work with us, but the Islamist movement is gaining ground.

I'm still waiting for your alterEgo, Strummerson, to appear to teach some lessons about democracy. Islamophobia is as pernicious as anti-Semitism. But that is something you have yet to learn. And needless to say, your heroes, David Horowitz and Daniel Pipes, have not learned them either.

This is still post1964 America, and that will never change.

were over 60% of world Muslims wiped out in an event similar to the Holocaust? I think not. There are over a billion of them. While Srebrenica was an instance genocide, it was a small and local one, whereas anti-Semitism caused pogroms and genocides of Jews with way more victims over a much more spread out area even before the Holocaust, and then came the Holocaust. The Holocaust was the biggest ethnic genocide of all time, wiping out the most of one group in both scale and scope. Nothing else compares to it! Also, so-called "islamophobia" doesn't require elaborate conspiracy theories like anti-semitism does, like 9/11 truth movements etc. propagate, and Al-Jazeera aka Al-Jihad promotes.
