Leslie Bryne and the progressive opportunity

This year's Lt. Gov Race in Virginia offers progressives a rare opportunity to shift the national debate back to the center. Leslie Byrne is running as a Democrat, without prefix, suffix, or apology. From The Cavalier Daily's endorsement:

In addition to speaking about the issues on her agenda, Byrne has stunned the establishment by candidly answering questions that many candidates would rather die than address on the record. She has expressed support for women's reproductive rights and civil unions without the shame or hesitancy that characterizes many Virginia Democrats' responses. Last month, she sent her opponent's spin machine into a tizzy when, in response to a question, she told the United Mine Workers that she opposes the so-called "right-to-work" law, adding that she calls it the "right to be poor" law.

If Leslie Byrne wins in Virginia this year, as I hope and expect, all the assumptions about who is electable will shift to the left. If you live in Virginia it is important you volunteer this year. If you have friends or family who live in Virginia, please write them about Byrne. If you have a blog, please post about her. Together we can win.

I am sorry no one has commented on this
But although you make praise for Bryne, but you may not realize it but you are in way downgrading both the current Lt Gov Tim Kaine the Democratic nominee for Governor and the current Gov. Mark Warner, who by the way are the only Virginia Democrats to win statewide in the last decade, for not being in agreement with you on abortion, gay marriage and right to work laws.
