If you want to be taken seriously, be serious. If you want to have an edgy satirical wit, be edgy and satirical. Bill Maher is a satirist, comedian, and social commentator. You, as Stephen Colbert would say to Sarah Palin, are fucking retarded.
Did the black vote cynically shift, or was there a cultural, and historical shift in what was possible? Why in the hell would you waste your time supporting a non-viable candidate? I loved Kucinic. Was I cynical when I switched my supoort to Obama? Did you think a black guy could win the presidency in 2008? Hell no.
I am frustrated as hell with the capulation to the monied aristocracy, but please. The most disrespectful thing you said was that millions of people switched their vote out of cynicism and not conviction. You are seriously as bad as Rush Limabaugh in that respect. People just voted for Obama because he was black? Just like Alan Keyes won the black vote in his landslide runs for president.
Hillary and Barack both had appealing qualities. Hillary's electibility put her over the top at the start. Once people started to see the electibility of Barack they switched. You are an arrogant man to think they all switched out of something less than principle.
I always argue that the big/little government argument is childish, and what we really want is efficient government. Sometimes that is big, sometimes it's small. Stupid stuff like this gives the Rethugs all the amunition they need to say Democrats interfere where they don't belong. Unlike health insurance, where you have to be able to see a doctor or die, you have different transportation options. Government should not be able to tell someone what they can charge for. How is this not ridiculous. Personally, I think people who try and take their steamer trunk as carry ons should have their luggage throw overboard, but I suppose that would be extreme.
You do not want a convention! The RNC caused local businesses to shut down. Don't even mention the way peaceful protesters were treated. The Teabaggers will descend on the DNC in 2012. UGLY.
In 1998 the Repubicans were the party in majority in the house. They lost 5 seats to the Democrats, but still retained the majority. Again, the majority party lost seats in the 1998 midterm.
You are right about 2002. So 1934 and 2002 when those a-holes used terror fear to maintain power.
The party in power has lost seats in both the Senate and House in every single mid-term of all time, except 1934. Prediciting that the party in power will have a bad midterm is like saying the sky is blue.
As a side note, the one model we have for holding serve is a president being progressive as hell, calling out corporate America, and actually being audacious. Could we learn from 1934?
People's objection to the ad has nothing to do with someone expressing their right to choose life. To say such a hateful thing of the pro-choice community is horrible. The obvious problem is that CBS would never allow a narrative advertisement of someone who chose a abortion. This ad is not about choosing life. This is an anti-choice ad and you know it. Most pro-choice folks want to see abortions eliminated as much as possible as well.
It is almost like you are wanting Obama to fail, and this is a nice proxy for you? I know you disagree with him on a lot, and he wasn't your candidate, but your analysis is very jaded by that. Things are bad, but not over. I mean, oh my god, a Rasmussen poll makes things look good for a Republican, stop my beating heart.
hehe, you wanted us to think Obama was the most liberal Senator in the entire Senate. (which he wasn't). But then America elected someone you thought was left of Bernie Sanders and you say this is a conservative country. Good one.

hehe, I liked Edwards too. Looks like we both have lousy judgement Jerome.

Over 60% of Minnesotans don't think TPaw should run for President. The people who know him best know he is a disaster.
Wonder how the Beckster likes being in a Religion where Harry Reid is the most outstanding member!

We have enough shitty Republicans with our three, Kline, Bachmann, and Paulsen. We don't need to add Camp:)

Can't wait for the MSM media story on how this indicates Democrats are dropping like flies.
