Re: Jay Rockafeller-D WV (Super-D) is

What does this have to do with the endorsement?

Re: Jay Rockafeller-D WV (Super-D) is

Seriously.  This has nothing to do with the endorsement.

Re: Jay Rockafeller-D WV (Super-D)

Jay is quite popular in WV and wins his races by ridiculous amounts.  Still, Bill Clinton is really popular in WV, and won it twice.  HRC leads 2-1 in the only WV poll to date.

Now watch Joe Manchin hedge his bets in hopes that people keep mentioning his name ever-when they talk about Veep choices.

And, of course, Jay is nothing to Robert Byrd.  THAT endorsement would be like manna from heaven in the state.

Re: Jay Rockafeller-D WV (Super-D)

The last I read he was still in the hospital, receiving physical therapy, and likely to get out next week, but X-rays confirmed that he broke no bones.  I bet he's looking forward to going home so he can see his dog.

Middle Name

We have the same middle name! I guess we're both unfit to be president.

Re: Jay Rockafeller-D WV (Super-D) is supporting B

"
West Virginia Senator Jay Rockefeller is a Democrat in name, but he votes along with the Republicans on important issues much more than he votes with the Democrats. On the important issue of protecting Americans from the abuse of big government spies, Rockefeller stands with George W. Bush - on the side of Big Brother against you.

On almost every single vote today, Senator Rockefeller voted to help George W. Bush spy against your email, listen to your cell phone calls, and watch you on the world wide web - and to conduct this spying without any justification or oversight. This new Republican law that Rockefeller supports prohibits Congress from exercising oversight to prevent abuses, and allows the FBI and Director of National Intelligence to go spy against Americans without having to even make a claim that the targeted Americans are suspected of a crime. If this law passes, the President will be able to order his government to spy on you just because they don't like you - and no one will be able to stop them.

Barack Obama was there today in the Senate. Obama stood strong and firm against the abusive FISA Amendments Act spying regime. John McCain voted in favor of Big Brother government spying against Americans.

Where did Senator John Rockefeller come down? Senator Rockefeller betrayed all freedom-loving Americans. He voted against Obama. Rockefeller voted with John McCain and George W. Bush."

Re: Jay Rockafeller-D WV (Super-D) is supporting B

The same could be said of Senator Feinstein, who supports Clinton.

Re: Jay Rockafeller-D WV (Super-D) is supporting B

True...but Obama has magic powers of unity that Clinton does not have, or so he says. Why did he not use them to get Jello Jay and a host of others who support Obama but also voted with the Bush gov? Do they only kick in when he becomes president?

Re: Jay Rockafeller-D WV (Super-D) is supporting B

Well, at least Obama no on the most recent FISA vote.  Clinton decided not to show up.

Re: Jay Rockafeller-D WV (Super-D)

That's good news.  Just a minor technical detail, the name is spelled Rockefeller.

Found his endorsement quote here.  What I'd really like to see is for Obama to encourage Jay and others in Congress to stand behind the FISA battle and not support telecom immunity.
