Its happening already. Our company is already doing much of its accounting work in India. Despite uneven results, the program is expanding because its so cheap.
Why would Jeffords' switch short circuit the move? I'd think that McCain would be in an even stronger position to join with minority party after Jeffords and probably get some plumb committee assignments to boot.
I think this is an effect of the 24 hour news media. Senators are in DC and have access to the national press any time they want it. As a result, anyone who pays even cursory attention to politics knows the names John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Bill Frist, Russ Feingold, Joe Biden, etc. giving them a leg up on name recognition. Yet, how many people outside of their home states and political junkies like those of us on this blog could tell you who Tom Vilsack, Bill Richardson, Frank Murkowski, Mitt Romney, etc. are? Heck, I've already forgotten the name of that West Virginia governor who was doing such great work after the coal mining disasters last year.
This is big news as Foltin was the only one who could make this competitive. The Dems should have a very very competitive primary and hopefully Sutton or Grace will emerge. Foltin could probably beat Sawyer or Cafaro.

That should read "majority".

This is an excellent piece, Matt. One of the most insightful and important things I've read on a blog in a long time.
Hackett? No way. Tim Ryan in 2010!
If the GOP wants to waste its money on OH-13, let them -- it will just take away cash from other races where we are leading GOP incumbents.

The latest Rasmussen has Strickland up 12 on Blackwell and 7 on Petro. But this is a governor's race, not senate.
I agree completely. The 13th is literally in my backyard, so I might be looking into volunteering in this race.
