You know, one thing I get so sick of hearing from all the right-wing loons is how Progressives like myself and many of you are un-American. We have our patriotism questioned on a daily basis. Right-Wing idiots on the radio rail about how we do not believe in the Constitution and the values this country was founded on. Well, details that have emerged in the last couple of days show that the Bush Administration and their shameless enablers in the Republican Party and the former Republican Congress are the ones who really do not believe in the Constitution, or the freedoms granted by it.

Was just now watching yesterday's Hardball, and Jay Rockefeller, the outgoing Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, made a little bit of news.
As reported by Raw Story,
Following Wednesday's revelation by the former National Security Agency analyst that President Bush's warrantless wiretapping program had spied on everyone, quite contrary to what the administration had claimed, Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) told MSNBC's Chris Matthews on Thursday that he was "quite prepared to believe" the allegations. He added: "I think they went after anyone they could get -- including me."

Glenn Greenwald nailed it today:
Few things could reflect better on Panetta's selection than the fact that Feinstein and Rockefeller -- two of the most Bush-enabling Senators -- are unhappy with it.
And color me skeptical, but I don't believe for a second that Senators Feinstein and Rockefeller are objecting to the Panetta nomination out of concern for U.S. intelligence policy, or even more laughably because they feel left out of the process.
They're not just unhappy, they're worried. And they have good reason to be.

Something you may be used to hearing about a Democratic candidate in other states, but here in Utah, this is truly a first. We have but one Democrat in our federal delegation, and on FISA, Matheson has proven himself a true Bush Dog. Now it appears a new candidate is ready to step up and show true leadership on a key issue.
Morgan is the Democratic candidate for Utah's first congressional district, a seat currently held by school voucher supporting, "drill here, drill now" parroting, warrantless wiretap backing Rob Bishop. In addition to the 2/1 odds Morgan faces unseating the corporate funded incumbent, he also faces a battle with in-state leadership as a result of Rep. Jim Matheson, our only sitting Democrat, and faithful Blue Dog.

I have been bothered by the claim of some on MyDD since Barack Obama won the Democratic nomination, that it is inappropriate to discuss anything negative about either the Democratic nomination process, or our Democratic nominee. Many members have proclaimed that he is now our nominee, and as a result, we must support him wholeheartedly, and refrain from any criticism, or we are not true Democrats.
Many of us know Glenn Greenwald as the author of the column, Unclaimed Territory, at Salon.com. Mr. Greenwald has consistently and strongly supported Barack Obama in his column. However, he is a former constitutional law and civil rights litigator, who is deeply involved in the warrantless wiretapping debate.
Well, today, Mr. Greenwald took Obama to task, warned against blindly supporting him, and asked all of us to take Obama to task, as well.
