The past decade, which allowed the Bush Administration, American corporations and the great financial giants to turn the country into a dispeptic ulcer, which was mostly Bush and some Obama administered, has left us in a slump. It has taken so much energy to try and turn things around that we wonder if we can summon up more just to keep going.

Frank Rich hits it out of the park in his column in this Sunday's New York Times. His own observations, combined with references to the under-acknowledged prescience of Nouriel Roubini and the steeped-in-history thinking of Richard Florida, are nothing short of spot-on poignancy in: "What We Don't Know Will Hurt Us ."
I can't tell you how many times and how many ways I've tried (and somewhat failed) on these blogs to communicate what Rich so eloquently succeeds at today, but it is gospel, at least to me. So, with Mr. Rich's wonderful template in today's NY Times, here goes...
As Rich so concisely tells us, the truth is, it's not what we don't know, it's: "Do we really want to know?"

I'm no less than completely disgusted with regard to a story that's running late today on Bloomberg Media entitled: "Fed Says Most U.S. Banks Tightened Terms on Loans."
The truth is this is a major issue at the heart of what's wrong with the U.S. economy right now.

"To-morrow and to-morrow, and to-morrow..."
"Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow" is the beginning of the third sentence of one of the most famous soliloquies in Shakespeare's tragedy Macbeth. It is the response of the protagonist, Macbeth, to the news of his wife's death. The speech can be divided into two parts, with the line "Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow" marking the beginning of the second part. The full soliloquy reads:"She should have died hereafter;
