Genl. Clark STILL for Hillary

Per Ben Smith of Politico:

Clark spokesman: No Clinton call

A spokesman for General Wes Clark, Erick Mullen, this morning denied reports that the staunch Clinton supporter had called her last night and pushed her to drop out.

"General Clark has been on business travel and certainly did not make any such call to Senator Clinton," Mullen said.

Should Obama Resign Senate SubCommittee?

Barack Obama might ditch his domestic campaign this month to go on an international tour for the strategic purpose of improving his credentials in foreign policy, both abroad and at home.

Ruralvotes.com reports:

First and foremost, an international tour would decisively take the eyes of US voters outside of themselves to the question of how others see them. That, after all, has been, from the beginning, one of the big messages of Obama's campaign: showing a new face to the world, or, as he puts it, "America's back." Enthusiastic crowds in almost any part of the world would greet Obama, providing a new and novel angle for a media that is getting tired rephrasing the same story - "change vs. experience" - over and over again.

As a taxpayer and Senate constituent, I object.  Obama, by his own admission, has not had time to travel to Europe during his entire 14-month tenure as Chairperson of the Senate Subcommittee on European Affairs because he's been too busy running for President.  In fact, he's been too busy to even hold one policy hearing for that Subcommittee.  In Dec. 2007, Salon.com reported:

Doubts about Barack Obama's presidential credentials have crystallized during the past two weeks over his stewardship of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee's Subcommittee on European Affairs, which has convened no policy hearings since he took over as its chairman last January. That startling fact, first uncovered by Steve Clemons, who blogs on the Washington Note, prompted acid comment in Europe about the Illinois senator's failure to visit the continent since assuming the committee post, and even speculation that he had never traveled there except for a short stopover in London.

Now, though, Obama apparently has the time to visit Europe and other continents in his official capacity as a presidential candidate (not even nominee.)

Several questions must be asked in advance of Sen. Obama`s trip:

What would the official nature of his business be in these countries?

Would he be representing the U.S. Senate in some capacity?

If so, how would funding for the trip be shared, and would there be bi-partisan participation from the Senate?

And most importantly:

If it would be strictly a campaign trip, will Sen. Obama resign his Chair of the Senate Subcommittee so that another Senator who has time to travel to Europe in that official capacity might do so?

If Sen. Obama is able to enjoy a foreign policy tour to promote his presidential candidacy, but does not have time to do his job as Chairperson of the Senate Subcommittee on European Affairs, he must resign that position immediately.  The Senate is full of hard-working stewards who would be ready, willing, and able to take over this important responsibility on behalf of the American people.

Senator Clinton's real foreign policy experience

While Obama supporters often obsess over the Iraq War Vote, there is no denying that Senator Clinton has far more Foreign Policy experience than Senator Obama.  If one reads the Foreign Policy Speech she gave yesterday (link), there is an impressive grasp of world affairs.

But giving a speech is not the full extent of her foreign policy experience.  There is testimony from all parts of the world about her involvement in world affairs, playing a role that is far beyond that of a typical First Lady or even a US Senator.
