The idea began as an internet rant and quickly has expanded since then. Karl Rove, Bush's brain, the man behind George W. Bush's presidency wrote a memoir and had the unmitigated gall to call it "Courage and Consequence".
I'm irritated by a lot of things, but this really rubbed me the wrong way. The architect of the Swift Boat Veterans, 2 wars, and our economic crisis taking a victory lap and making money on book tours? Courage? BAH! Why not release a record with good bands with the same name with songs about his deeds and how bad he sucks? Why don't we call it the same name and try to bum out his special day by releasing it BEFORE his book?
Well, why not?
Help support us producing this compilation of songs and have it released the same day as Karl Rove's memoir of the same name, "Courage and Consequence"
(not actual cover!)

Ok.... well... not yet... but HOPEfully? Maybe? :)
I just responded to the latest email from Barack Obama with another donation.
In this email, he states that I could be one of the lucky ones to be with him on Election night in Chicago. Being a previous donor, I just had to donate one more time to get my name in the running.
I am not sure if the odds for winning are better or worse then the WA state Lotto, but... oh well, I did it anyways.
So what do you think? Do I have a chance?
I could be one of the "elite" jet setters flying off to Chicago on a whim, staying in a swanky Chicago hotel (motel 6?) and hopefully... meeting Barack Obama! (It does not actually say that. I think it might be a little difficult meeting the "president elect"!)

This past May, my twin daughters took a school field trip to the Capitol Building in Madison. This was a big deal for me. Not only because this was a four hour trip and I'm an anal, over-protective mother, but also because I planned on being the person to introduce them to our state's capitol. Although I was slated to be a chaperone, a severe case of bronchitis decided it was not to be.

This is a cross-posting. I posted this yesterday on DailyKos and it was on the rec list for a good part of the day. I was encouraged to repost it regularly and widely.
_________
The video I'm posting here may have been posted in the past. I'm not really sure. A quick search didn't reveal anything.
However...
I think that we are at a different moment of time in this presidential race. I've also posted this video in a few comments on DailyKos and the responses have often been to encourage me to post a diary.
This race is about McCain. About the Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld-Rice quartet of horror.
The Republican convention ran on an agenda of fear-mongering, "POW POW POW", lies, Iraq, war, stealing the change mantra, and lastly, the POW-Palin ticket. Dems have run on change and hope.
So I thought since the Republicans stole change, we ought to steal fear.
Why?
Because, unlike the Republicans, we actually havea lot to be afraid of!
And to prove this, I'm reposting the most bone-chilling 5-minute video about the war-mongering McCain out there.
