Hey all, just another Palin Rally video. Campaigning in Mesa County has been good because it makes me realize that the people in this video are fewer than I originally thought.
A must see video from the Las Vegas Sun on the angry, racist people at a McCain rally. http://www.lasvegassun.com/videos/2008/o

This is just one of many.
I personally fear these people, this may lead to a new generation of Timothy McVeigh's

"Breaking News: McCain says Obama is not an Arab"
This is what the bubble at the bottom of the screen read at a McCain rally and town hall meeting he held yesterday. And to see and hear his reaction to such claims is not as satisfying as I thought it would be. Not at all. I see a broken man who may actually regret the tone of his campaign.

In its latest excellent video, Brave New Films takes on the little matter of John McCain's rage problem.
In the meantime, Michel Kinsley reports on an incident at a casino where McCain went off on a woman for touching his arm at a craps table.
"McCain immediately turned to the woman and said between clenched teeth: `DON'T TOUCH ME.' The woman started to explain...McCain interrupted her: `DON'T TOUCH ME,' he repeated viciously. The woman again tried to explain. `DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM? DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU'RE TALKING TO?' McCain continued, his voice rising and his hands now raised in the `bring it on' position. He was red-faced. By this time all the action at the table had stopped. I was completely shocked. McCain had totally lost it, and in the space of about ten seconds. `Sir, you must be courteous to the other players at the table,' the pit boss said to McCain. "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM? ASK ANYBODY AROUND HERE WHO I AM."
And Joe Klein attributes the tenseness and stiffness in McCain during the two debates so far to his holding in his famous temper (h/t Political Wire):
But there is also a pent-up anger to McCain. He seems to be concentrating so hard on trying to stay calm that he doesn't have much energy left over to answer questions in a free and creative way. He is not the sort of person, in the end, that you want to invite into your living room for a four-to-eight-year stay.
Really, could it be any clearer just how unfit for office John McCain is? The question that remains is will he blow his top in public or on camera before election day. Here's hoping.
Let them burn. Read my full letter to Paul below the break. The block quotes are bits I've added specifically for this diary.
That said, I definitely understand the perspective of those nearing retirement or in retirement, but what's better. React out of fear and give these people everything they want, the very people who made the mess we're in, or take a step back and actually implement bits that will keep this from happening again?
My mother is 10 years from retirement. My father is a little closer. My aunts and uncles are all 49-56. My grandmother is 78 and in retirement while my grandfather passed away years ago.
I definitely have a lot of pain and empathy for those nearing retirement or in retirement. But we can't be willing to sacrifice the future stability of our market in the fear of today.
Remember the Patriot Act. Remember Warrant-less Wire Tapping. Both, and more, passed out of fear and paralysis.
