This diary is a follow-up to my diary last week describing John Edwards' appearance at the Young Democrats of America Convention in Dallas, Texas. Fortunately, they now have the video available online.
Part I
He received a very warm reception. If you aren't in it for the whole thing, just watch the first 2 minutes and see the crowd's reaction to Edwards.
John Edwards was the only presidential candidate to come to the YDA Convention in Dallas, Texas last week. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton each sent a representative to speak on their behalf. It says a lot that Edwards showed up to an organization that needs attention. It shows that he is committed to helping young people in the Democratic party. We are the ones who will get out your vote, candidates. As one of the presenters said, "you guys aren't the future of the Democratic Party, you're the present."

While we were all occupied with the candidates speeches at last week's DNC winter meeting, the Young Democrats of America were politicking behind the scenes to get young voters proportional representation in the ranks of delegates to the 2008 Presidential nominating convention. I exchanged emails with Tony Cani, Political Director of the Young Democrats for America, about this issue, and here's what went down.
