Video: Obama Breakout Session

the last of the video we shot at yearlykos (i believe).  this is the entire breakout session for barack obama, held at the chicago convention right after the presidential forum.

the session was a little over 38 minutes.  you can download the entire clip here or view it below:

Debate at YearlyKos Video

trying to get all the old stuff off my desk before the new year.  i have a couple of videos to upload from yearlykos, the first of which is this one, the complete presidential forum at yearlykos.

to me, this seemed the most relaxed and humorous debate of the ones i've seen.

it's in mp4 format, which you can apparently download and play on your video ipod from the google page...

Clinton used plant earlier

Already the story of the Clinton campaign plant has spread far and wide to nearly 100 media locations, including the front page of the Des Monies Register. Some commenter's on DailyKos have claimed that Clinton used plants at YearlyKos and a commenter at MyDD claimed that Clinton aide Chris Hayler asked to have the commenter ask about Iraq at State Sen. Gene Fraise's home. That's the most specific details we have yet of any other story. The sorces on these are shaky, two commenter's and Fox News but the last story was confirmed pretty quickly. This is bigger then one event, this is about a campaign constantly using a  unethical campaign tactic. This will backfire. More below the fold.

UPDATE: Story here It's the Fort Madison story. Clinton campaign response below the fold

ActBlue Star Daniel Biss Kicks It Off

daniel biss was the only candidate to attend the illinois blogger's caucus at yearlykos. but that may have been because he probably would have attended even if he hadn't been a candidate.  this is video of his remarks to the illinois blogger's caucus.

on sunday, daniel officially kicks off his campaign against elizabeth coulson.  he will be joined by congresswoman jan schakowsky, county commissioner larry suffredin, mwrd commissioner debra shore, state representative lou lang and other community leaders at his campaign's kick-off rally.  rally will be for about one hour at hibbard park (3000 Glenview Road, Wilmette, behind the Wilmette Community Recreation Center).  details can be found here.

as you will hear in the video, daniel has been leveraging the fund-raising website actblue as a vehicle for enhancing the credibility of his challenge to this republican incumbent.  speaker madigan had targeted this seat in 2004, backing michelle bromberg before pulling out in the last week or so because that campaign wasn't catching on.  some interpreted that to mean that coulson could not be beat.

this is unquestionably a challenge.  coulson is a formidible opponent.  but 2004 saw the netroots energized to elect john kerry, and there wasn't a lot of afterthought about other democrats running for office.  many campaigns, congressional, state-wide and local expressed almost resentment that they weren't able to catch some of the excitement aimed at the presidential.  we are more sophisticated now.

Liveblog with Eric Massa - Yearly Kos and a Pistol Packing Congressman

Crossposted from dKos

Friends,

It has been an absolute whirlwind week for our campaign over the last 10 days and there are a number of things I'd like to touch on today. In the last 10 days, our momentum has grown exponentially. Today, I'd like to take the time to review four major developments in our race.

YearlyKos

First - I want to thank all of you for another wonderful experience at the Yearly Kos convention last week in Chicago. I apologize for not posting last Sunday as I usually do, however I was on an airplane flying back to Western NY at the time. During the convention I was scheduled to speak at the Future Leaders panel with a number of netroots candidates. However on Saturday morning at 7 am I received an urgent call from one of my staffers. Apparently Arianna Huffington had just broken her ankle and as such was unable to make it to the "Left behind by the Right" panel (If you're reading this, I hope you're feeling better Arianna). As such, I was asked to step in since I too am a former Republican.
