Mrs. Clinton predicted a Giants win tonight and she's celebrating according to the New York Times:
Mrs. Clinton had spent the last 48 hours extolling the possibilities of "the New York team" winning both the Super Bowl in Phoenix and Super Tuesday in 22 states nationwide. And in spite of exhaustion and a deeply hoarse voice, Mrs. Clinton was high-fiving and hooting with a diehard's vigor."We've got one down, now we've got to have the other," Mrs. Clinton said after the G-men's final touchdown.
.
Congrats to Hillary for sticking through with the Giants even when they face what seems insurmountable odds. The Giants played very well and I am very happy with the upset.
The loser today: Obama picked the Pats to win and today I will let my fellow Obamaniacs defend him for having the temerity to pick the inevitable front runner when he knows full well this year is not the year of inevitable.
To quote Mrs. Clinton again:
"We've got one down, now we've got to have the other
. Yes, you will win NY but don't put your hopes too high as we are the underdogs now heading toward Super-Tuesday.

A game to play:
After McCartney and the Stones, who is still performing and big enough to play the Superbowl halftime show next year without people saying, "Well, we've gone to the second tier." Musicianship and talent would be a plus, surely, but who's got the hits and the history? Even the most ardent fans of Greenday or Gwen Stefani would admit (well, maybe they wouldn't) that they're not in the same league.
Two thoughts, and I can accept punishment for mentioning them:
Madonna
Elton John (that would be three Brit acts in a row; probably a bad precedent, even for Roberts and Alito)

It is very depressing to see that the Super Bowl Pregame show talked more and dedicated more to those who suffered through the devastion that is Hurricane Katrina than President Bush's State of the Union. It is absolutely sad that a private institution cares more about the people of the Gulf Coast than the American government.
