SIGN THE LETTER - Hold Congressional Hearings to Restore the Rule of Law

So ... what do George McGovern, Ralph Nader, Robert A. Feuer, Rocky Anderson, Blase Bonpane, Theresa Bonpane, Ramsey Clark, Mimi Kennedy, Andy Jacobs, Jr., James Abourezk, Daniel Ellsberg, Noam Chomsky, Paul Findley, Kevin Zeese, John Nichols, Tim Carpenter, Marcus Raskin, Jonathan Kozol,  and Harry Belafonte have in common?

They all signed a letter in January of this year (below the fold) asking Rep. Conyers to hold hearings into abuses and violations of the law by members of the Bush administration. The letter got some press coverage, but the Judiciary Committee has so far failed to act.

Now it's time for John and Jane Q. Public to raise their voices (via email and website) to up the volume quite a bit.

Please add your name to the call for hearings by the House Judiciary Committee and forward the link below to everyone on your email list.  Through networking, we can generate hundreds of thousands -- perhaps millions -- of supporters for hearings.

MLK Jr., weekend events bring many thoughts.

What we do to each other!
I wonder why, and will we ever get better at valuing all human beings equally? Does a day go by, without horrible happenings, right here in 2008 in the United States of America, to our fellow humans? It happens to all, and genders, poverty, some more than others, allowing part of our society to live in discouragement, with no vision for a better future. Worse then no vision the realization that there are few options, if any. Where do we go from here?

Harry Belafonte Endorses John Edwards

Harry Belafonte, one of the most outspoken, admired and courageous of the campaigners for civil rights and for the poor today endorsed John Edwards.

http://www.abcnews4.com/news/stories/120 7/478529.html

Belafonte, who was famous for the beautiful calypso songs he sang in the fifties and sixties, has crusaded for fifty years to protect children and help the poor, and he said that Edwards is the only candidate whose compassion and concern indicate that he is truly able and willing to effectively deal with these critical issues.

"I've looked at his [Edward's] platform on education, healthcare, poverty, what young people are going through and I have come to believe he's the best candidate," Belafonte said.

"[Belafonte]...says all the other candidates talk about the plight of the middle class, while only Edwards talks about the poor."

Here is video of Belafonte's endorsement:
