Social Media

Social media marketing. is very much an up and coming medium for marketing your company, products and services. Due to the spread in popularity of websites like Facebook and Twitter, your advertising message can be read right across the world, by thousands of people. Better still, there's no cost either. As a social platform, you need only to set up an account and start interacting with the community.

Standing Behind a Ban on Torture

Standing just behind President Obama in the Oval Office, I watched last week as the new President signed his name to three Executive Orders that will put our country in a stronger position to fight Al Qaeda.

He Was ABSOLUTELY Right!

This address drew some flack for the suggestion that Barack was somehow playing the "race card".  Look at it now in the context of the current race & wonder if anyone could have given a more accurate prediction of not just how this cycle would progress, but also why.

Debate OFF/ON or Town Hall-Obama Calls Bluff.+ New Palin Scandal!

Veering away from Sarah Palin for the moment, I have, with only the most amorphous sense of timeline, the current standings on the debate:

The most recent news I've been able to find come from WaPo's The Fix, time-stamped 9:52 PMhttp://voices.washingtonpost.com/thefix/

For those political junkies still wondering whether tomorrow night's scheduled presidential debate in Mississippi will happen, a just-released memo from John McCain's campaign casts doubt on the prospect.

"Tomorrow, John McCain will return to Capitol Hill where he will work with all sides to build a bipartisan solution that protects taxpayers and keeps Americans in their homes," said spokesman Brian Rogers in a memo detailing the events of the day and casting McCain as a consensus-builder and Democrats in the role of spoilers. (Full memo after the jump.)

Now, McCain does have his own plane, which means that he could theoretically be in Washington for negotiations through the early afternoon and then jet down to Mississippi for the 9 p.m. ET debate.

But the tone of McCain's memo seems to suggest he is not planning to waver from his original call yesterday to suspend tomorrow night's debate to a later date.

The memo, Obama's calling the bluff & a bonus fresh Palin scandal all after the bump..

From Obama: Past Events that Did NOT Stop Debates

Update [2008-9-24 22:11:15 by January 20]: Link included.

Via The Page. http://thepage.time.com/obama-campaign-release-on-debate-day-history/

The Obama campaign has released a handy timeline of some of the major news events on days of past presidential debates.  Events that did not interfere with those debates.

If you want the compressed version without specific timelines, here are some of the highlights:

Soviets announce ready to put first astronaut into space, Bomb injures 33 in Times Square in 3rd explosion in 11 days,
US embargo on Cuba announced, KRUSHCHEV SAYS USSR HAS NUCLEAR SUBS, Chinese nuke tests fallout on US soil, Iranian parliament resumes debate on US hostages. Questions of arms to Saudi Arabia from US, US hostages in Lebanon, Middle East violence erupts, Attack of USS Cole occurred 5 days earlier, North Korea has said it has turned plutonium from 8,000 spent fuel rods into nuclear weapons

And Kruschev banged his shoe!
