Cross posted at C4OHave you come across those that insist that Barack Obama wants to raise their taxes? Do you just want to scream and shout when you hear McCain/Palin talk about how Obama just can't wait to raise taxes on those making less than $50,000?
Well, it's just not true and I want to share with you a nifty little calculator that you can use when speaking to those skeptics (Blackberry friendly I hear).
So, 95% of families will get a tax break from Obama although more than half of those polled think he is going to raise their taxes. We cannot go down this road again! We must stop the "tax and spend" meme of the Republicans with hard numbers and evidence.

Cross-posted from OH-16: John Boccieri for U.S. Congress:
In a post last week, OH-16: State Senator John Boccieri: AG Dann should resign immediately State Senator John Boccieri expressed his "outrage" over the the behavior of Attorney General Marc Dann. On May 6, 2008, Senator Boccieri stated:
"I am outraged that the Attorney General of the state of Ohio has neglected the duty and honor of public service," Senator Boccieri said. "The cronyism and lack of attentiveness to protocol and detail in Attorney General Dann's hiring practices has led us to this tragic moment in Ohio's history. I feel for his wife Alyssa and his children, who must endure the embarrassment he has caused to them, and the people of the state of Ohio.
"We support the ongoing investigation to determine whether any criminal lines have been crossed. However, after combing through the sordid details of the investigation transcripts, it is clear that ethical and moral lines have been disregarded. For this reason, I call upon Marc Dann to resign immediately."
The Saga continues...

I love days like today...a blogger's dream! The campaign just pounded so much Mojo at me today I had turn it into a major round-up. It's a quite fitting run of "Ground Mobilization" by our candidate, the Ohio State Senator Major John Boccieri. Boots on the ground! It's time to rock Ohio's 16th Congressional District out of the tired funk from "The Hillary, Barack, McCain Diary Train". Get ready for the battle brewing here in Northeast Ohio!
Out of Headquarters...Ground Mobilization!

Does a candidate's policy proposals reveal the kind of president he/she would be? Paul Krugman today in the NYT suggests that policy proposals have revealed the kind of leadership that past presidential candidates. He points out that Bush proposed big tax cuts for the rich and followed through on them, making life harder for the rest of us.
The moral is that it's important to take a hard look at what candidates say about policy..... policy proposals offer a window into candidates' political souls -- a much better window, if you ask me, than a bunch of supposedly revealing anecdotes and out-of-context quotes.
The current issue that McCain, Clinton and Obama have responded to is the mortgage crisis. Krugman analyzes the three responses and I found his analysis interesting and to be troubling for progressives.

After winning Ohio's 16th District Democratic Congressional Primary on March 4th, 2008, by more than 64% of the vote, Ohio State Senator Major John Bocceiri said:
"The people of Northeast Ohio need a representative in Congress they can trust to stand up for their interests. They need to know the person they send to Washington will fight for positive change on the issues affecting them every day. We must fix the unfair trade deals that send our jobs overseas, expand accessibility to affordable health care, find a solution to the foreclosure crisis, ensure our veterans have the services and support they have earned and bring our troops home from Iraq safely, honorably and soon."
Now, Canton, Ohio's, City Council President Allen Schulman invites you to come and meet State Senator John Boccieri and his friends!
