Still Can't Deliver

With all the cha-ching that obama has raised, more than any other candidate in campaign history, with throngs of people volunteering for "the one", with an infatuated media on his side, "the one" can't slaughter his opponent. Unbelievable. It really is pathetic and hilarious. And as I write this, as I sit  out in my yard on a wonderful and warm california afternoon, I'm sending good vibrations out to Mrs. Clinton who has become everything obama can only dream of being: an amazing politician

Let me see, June is almost upon us and by this time Hillary, according to the msm and obama's calculations measured long ago, is not suppose to be around anymore. Instead, she is still out campaigning and has huge voter support. Aaaaahhh, this warm sun is so beautiful and so is Hillary.

I think I'll make another donation today, just to make my incredible day even more pleasurable.

I love democracy, I truly do.

Re: Still Can't Deliver (2.00 / 4)

It's unbelievable that people are still writing crap like this, yet expect not to be treated as trolls.

Since when does someone have to 'slaughter' their opponent to be considered the victor?  Many close matches are between two people who are roughly equal in strength and have gone on a long time, b/c one team is too good to simply fold up.

You'll be gone from this site in a week or two, when your reason for trolling is done.

really, without any opposition, McSame still lost 28% of the vote in Kentucky to Ron Paul and Huck.

Hell, Obama BEAT McSame in Kentucky by 68,000 votes (210K vs 142K), a state McSame is supposed to win.

lawyerish, think before you think, obama has impressed us all with his campaigning talents, and hillary has disappointed, but the reason why he can't close the deal is that there is no depth to the man as a politician. he is a senator. CASED CLOSED as they say in legal circles

Re: Still Can't Deliver (2.00 / 1)

Actually, the reason he hasn't 'closed the deal' is that the match ain't over yet.

It's like when a football team is up by three touchdowns with a few minutes left in the 4th quarter of the game.  The other team has practically zero chance of winning.  But the game has to be played out by the rules anyways.  That's what you are seeing here.

You are making assertions as if they were factual, and that's never the hallmark of a great argument.

The question is...... (2.00 / 4)

Why can't she finish HIM off?

If she is supposedly such a vastly superior candidate....why does she trail Obama in the popular vote and by 160 pledged delegates?

BTW.....you act as if everything is honky-dory in the Clinton campaign.

If you hadn't noticed, she is $30 million in debt and only has $8 million in COH for the primary.

Yeh....she's really positioned to win in November, all right.....

Why didn't SHE close the deal? (2.00 / 3)

She had 20 point poll leads all throughout 2007.

She had the institutional support -- twice the superdelegate backing of all the other candidates combined.

She had a two-term President campaigning for her.

She had all the money in the world - more than any candidate in history save for Obama.

What happened?  Why couldn't Hillary close the deal?

Why can't Obama close the deal?  Because Hillary Clinton is a damn fine candidate in her own right - you don't demolish the Clintons, you beat them -- if you can.

Obama has done that - it's time you acknowledge that.

Ignore it. Every day a few more see reality. (2.00 / 4)

As every day passes a few more Hillary supporters recognize it's over.

Some won't see it even though he's won the most pledged delegates.

When FL and MI are settled on May 31, some will say it wasn't fair, but some more will accept.

When the primaries are over on June 3, some will say on to the convention, but some more will accept.

When Hillary concedes in early June and endorses Obama, some will say she doesn't mean it, and it'll be decided at the convention, but many will accept.

When the convention ends with no drama, and Obama is still the nominee, most will have accepted that, but some will still not.

When Obama wins the election in November, most will cheer, but some will say he stole the Presidency from Hillary.

When Obama takes the oath of office on Jan. 20, 2009, some will cry tears of joy, but a lonely few will still not accept.

That's life.

Amazing, huh?  Considering she's been outspent 3,4 or even 5 to 1...

There's a reason so many people still support Hillary Clinton.  She got where she is without gimmicks; without crossovers and without money.  She got here with basic Democratic support.

But I guess in this new world order, he with the most money wins.  But, that sounds a bit too Republican, does it not?

Re: She got where she is w/out GIMMCIKS??? (none / 0)

It's a Tar Baby!

Look at it like this; McCain proposes a stupid gas tax holiday... it is a trap.

He knows the Democrats will criticize the plan and then he can nail us on the old 'Tax and Spend' meme.

Hillary instead says, 'Ok, let's do that but we'll make the (~~evil~~) OIL companies pay for it with a windfall profits tax'.

So, now we have McCain backing away from taxing the oil companies but he can't take back the 'holiday'.

In the end, Hillary has the most responsible plan and McCain has lost the issue.

It's actually brilliant politics.

Re: She got where she is w/out GIMMCIKS??? (none / 0)

Everything about your post was factually worng.

McCain NEVER proposed a tax on the oil comapnies to pay for the gas tax holiday. He would simply just add tot he deficit spending and destroy 600,000 jobs.

Hillary proposed taxing the oil company profits (which she WOULD NEVER get through the Senate right now) to pay for the holiday, which would still do nothing b/c the price of gas would simply rise agian to where it was before.

And it wasn't brilliant politics - the only two states that were stupid enough to believe her that it would do anything were WV and KY......it hurt her a lot in IN, NC and OR b/c most of those voters according to exit polls thought it was a bad idea.

Nothing here hurts, and some of it isn't even a fact.

The only fact is that Hillary said it would all be over on Feb 6th, Obama did not and has not said the contest is or should be over.  Just that he is likely to have the majority by the end of the process.

So aside from that, I agree and enjoy watching this democratic process run though to it's logical conclusion on June 3rd.  At that point if Clinton has managed to convince 85% or more of the remaining superdelegates (and it will take that many)then she will be able to claim victory.  I don't think it will happen, but I don't object to people holding out hope, as long as they are honest with themselves and do the right thing which is to support whichever democrat emerges from this process.
