Fair use is good, but IP is a way for skilled workers to get paid and it is something that Democrats and progressives should support. The obvious bleeding heart examples is whether Amazonian tribes who discover medical properties of plants should get to share the loot with Merck.

This is the same thing as saying Democrats aren't capitalists.  Of course we are.  Of course I want to protect IP.  But IP laws should not be a shield to have big business attack small.

I didn't say that. You asked a rhetorical question and I provided an answer. A lot of small businesses worry about foreign and domestic theft of their IP.
