They aren't.  I have seen no action out of them on this issue.  For many years Common Cause focused exclusively on CFR and their staff expertise was within that narrow perview.  Now after BCRA passed they started opening up again.  Their first major forray outside the typical sunshine laws, ethics and CFR was media reform.  The organization has built up a great deal of institutional knowlege and activity on that issue.

Now it appears they are starting to pay more attention to the tech side of things.  They sent one of their VPs to the ICANN meeting for example.  When I was there a year and half ago I tried getting them involved in these issues, but they were not particularly interested.  Perhaps they will become more engaged, it would be good to have them working in this field and it is within their perview.

That's right.  Common Cause has not taken a position on these issues - maybe we should, although we've got a lot on our plate now.
