GOP's Rating with Latinos Falls to Margin of Error

Look at what Republicans' knee-jerked opposition to Sonia Sotomayor has done to their standing among Hispanic voters across the country:

Republican Party approval rating among Latinos

4/27-308/3-6
Favorable143
Unfavorable7386
No opinion1311

That's right. Per nonpartisan Research 2000 polling commissioned by Daily Kos, the GOP's favorable rating among Hispanics nationwide has fallen to inside the margin of error. While the size of the subgroup is no doubt small, thus making the margin of error for the subgroup large, the fact that the party's standing among Hispanics has dropped to virtually nothing is nevertheless remarkable (even if not surprising.

Re: GOP's Rating with Latinos Falls

Too bad so many Latinos are hard core Catholics who have abortion as their number one issue. The GOP will still get a third of Latino votes simply because of that. At a friend's Catholic Church, the priest told everyone to vote McCain.

to stay competitive

in many states, the GOP needs 40 to 45 percent of this voting bloc. If they are stuck in the low 30s, that's not a good sign.

Re: GOP's Rating with Latinos Falls

It's worth noting that McCain only got 19% of the under-30 Latino voters.

But Republicans have energized their base!

Making Jeff Sessions the face of the opposition was a brilliant move. (Not.)

with so many groups and polls

showing just how unfavorable the repugs are, why does the media act as if they are relevant and give them a voice?
