The Republican "Plan" for Healthcare

House Republicans presented a four-page outline of their health care reform plan Wednesday but said they didn't know yet how much it would cost, how they would pay for it and how many of the nearly 50 million Americans without insurance would be covered by it.
The Republicans would be a little more convincing in their efforts to appear to be willing to negotiate in good faith on healthcare if, for instance, their plan was actually a bill longer than four pages that actually did something -- anything -- to reform our healthcare system. I would be surprised if they put forward a real plan, because they appear content simply saying no, a tactic that worked a decade and a half ago when Bill Clinton was President bush that hasn't been particularly fruitful for the party in the past few years. But if the Republicans are trying to seem like they are coming up with an alternative, they might consider, well, coming up with an alternative.
