Open Thread: Ted's World

"You know, if you economize and don't buy new airplanes or long-range jets, or that sort of thing, you can get by on a billion or two." Ted Turner.  He's got to be snarking, right?  The article also notes that he's given $750M of a planned $1B to the UN.

Re: Open Thread: Ted's World
"This Modern World There's the actual Obama and there's the idea of Obama By Tom Tomorrow" Cute cartoon above that sums it up quite nicely.

Re: Open Thread: Ted's World

Your backing up your theory with a cartoon. I just wanted to make sure you realized that.

Re: Open Thread: Ted's World

Actually, Tom is succinct and to the point as always.

Re: Open Thread: Ted's World
Which is why I laughed at the cartoon. I had exactly this feeling without saying it so succinctly on the public option.

Re: Open Thread: Ted's World

Well, it is a citation and it does support your theory, so I praise the effort you've made to bolster your position. Bravo, it's a start at least.

Re: Open Thread: Ted's World

I hear Charles Schulz had a good read on Obama too.

Man I am slow today

Jerome posts some snark from TED Turner

Steve replies with a cartoon inspired by the style of TOM Tomorrow still with the subject TED's World, even though it seems that the actual artist is JEN Sorenson.

Which is supposed to somehow be responsive to TED.

I don't get it.

For the record Ted is being snarkish here, as noted he made a huge pledge to the UN and despite getting his net worth hammered along with his fellow billionaires is one is way to meeting it. And quite of quietly is doing more to restore the eco-system of the upper Plains than anyone else. I don't know whether his ranches are formally associated with the Buffalo Commons project but certainly are a put your money where your mouth is contribution to the overall goal.

Whatever you might think about Buffalo ranching in general, it is a hell of a lot more ecologically sustainable than trying to grow wheat in what was once known as The Great American Desert (and yes Desert does have two relevant meanings, still.)
