Fox Attacks: Obama Like Kerry

As was discussed on Meet The Bloggers today, Fox News has taken to attacking Barack Obama this cycle with virtually identical lines of attack as they used against John Kerry in 2004. It's actually pretty pathetic and really shameless. Brave New Films has released the latest in their excellent series of "Fox Attacks" videos to document it.

Watch it:

What's the likelihood that this crap is going to end now that Barack has gone on O'Reilly and they've come to some "truce." I won't hold my breath.

Surge -Wildly Successful?

Did Obama really say that?

I thought the "War is Lost"?

lol, is that criticism?

Obama went into the lion's den. O'Reilly pronounced him "tough".

Meanwhile, your party is playing "Where in the World is Sarah Palin?"

Your trouble is, you don't think. It's the prime requirement for being a Goop.

Re: Surge -Wildly Successful?

Goopers don't have to think. They have highly paid professionals do that for them. They just get the word and do as they're told. Much easier.

Re: Surge -Wildly Successful?

He went on to say that there wasn't enough political gain.  So it did cut down on violence, but didn't reach it's ultimate end.

Part of winning this election this year means trusting that the American people have learned form their mistakes.

Re: Fox Attacks: Obama Like Kerry

At least we have Olbermann and Maddow this time. They're a one-two primetime punch.

Re: Fox Attacks: Obama Like Kerry

Two problems with that thinking.

How many actually them against how many watch Fox. Total not just in the 'demo'

Do you actually know the demographics of Fox'x audience? About 30% Dem, 32% independent, 38% Rep.

I was shocked at how many Dem and Ind that watch it.

Not sure about that

An audience that decides for itself, based on "fair and balanced" coverage, ought not to reach monolithic conclusions. Yet, in our 2004 polling with Media Vote, using Nielsen diaries, we found that Fox News viewers supported George Bush over John Kerry by 88 percent to 7 percent. No demographic segment, other than Republicans, was as united in supporting Bush. Conservatives, white evangelical Christians, gun owners, and supporters of the Iraq war all gave Bush fewer votes than did regular Fox News viewers.

Re: Not sure about that

Well I can't find my orginal source of info but here is something while I keep looking. Different but still interesting.
Percentage of Party Members Watching Specific Cable News Channels
      Dem     Rep     Independents
CNN     28%     19%     22%
Fox News21%     35%     22%
MSNBC     12%     10%     12%

newer info (2008)

"Currently, 39% of regular Fox News viewers are Republicans while 33% are Democrats"
(of course there is a gap, independent?)

again Pew research

That IS interesting

It would seem the two views are irreconcilable (unless a third or so of dems voted for GWB).

My infor

My info was four years apart. First was 2004, second was 2008.

Interesting movement. I remember I had seen it and been shocked. I also though pretty much Fox was Rep, and a very small amount of others. Who knew.

Re: Fox Attacks: Obama Like Kerry

Next year, when President Obama is sworn in and the 60 Democrats in the Senate have taken their oaths, "Operation: Freeze Out" can commence: no press credentials, no conversations on or off the record with Congressional or administration officials, and no elected Democrats appearing on Fox News until their coverage really does start to look fair and balanced.

Alternatively, they can just go on their shows and laugh at them, because they'll be irrelevant.

Re: Fox Attacks: Obama Like Kerry

Fox News is irrelevant this year...

90% of Fox viewers are already voting fro McCain... they have absolutely no influence on the electorate....

They can say whatever they damn well please... they won't influence anyone... everyone who is watching is already predisposed...

Why arent these kind of ads on tv?

FOX NEWS has shown that these kind of direct ads can make a difference for your team. Why don't the democrats be blunt in their ads? It would really destroy the illusion on many issues.

Re: Why arent these kind of ads on tv?

Not to mention, Greenwald's ads are honest. Which makes them even more effective over time.
